Lovely real pub. One of the best pints I've ever had. They defiantly look after there ale. Friendly staff. Lovely beer garden.

Like a number of other locals we stopped going but there is a new friendly landlord. The Blacks is back to being a decent quality local pub,which is good news. There is a range of good quality, well kept beers on the pumps. A lot of the old regulars have returned which did not take long. The pub is clean, warm,friendly and buzzing again. Out the back you can go up some steep steps to a roof top beer garden and see historic Wirksworth. This is a great place in the summer. In winter there is normally a stove on so the pub is warm Andy cosy

I used the blacks head over the Christmas period it was lovely and festive with its decorations and log fire . Tracey the manager couldn't have been more welcoming and was a great host . Good range of drinks from real ales , lagers and spirits
