We had a great experience here. I would definitely recommend. Lovely clean room and bathroom. The room was quite warm as it was very sunny but you can adjust the thermostat in your room and you're even provided a fan which was great. We got a great deal for 2 nights and breakfasts included. The breakfast was good. We got dinner there one night and that was nice too. The most memorable part of our stay was the lovely staff, especially Harry. He was full of chat and laughter and gave us some great recommendations of what we could do. Even the other customers of the bar were lovely. Great location, walkable distance to everything and only a train away from Manchester airport. Rooms: Lovely room, clean and comfy bed. The cleaning staff we're brilliant and helpful. Walkability: Walkable distance to museums etc. Food & drinks: Good food and drinks, no complaints.
Room was amazing and much more than I was expecting.. Very modern and immaculate. Bathroom was my favourite. Comfortable bed and plenty of space. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. Only negative was as it was so warm we needed window open and it was a bit noisy.Rooms: 5/5
Had a lovely stay at The Black Lion. Don't let old reviews put you off, the hotel is clean, modern and exactly as photos show. We stayed in 'Shambles' one of the king suites and it was great. There is a noisy motor type noise that runs off and on outside, but stops overnight - I slept like a baby! The beds are clean and comfy, shower is great with shampoo etc provided. The rooms have tea/coffee facilities, ironing board, smart TV - no hairdryer though, that would be a welcome addition. Breakfast was lovely, aside from the hot options there is cereal and juices. Harry is a great host, welcoming and friendly - I have already rebooked for a return visit in October, minutes after finishing this stay! Rooms: Clean, comfy and functional Walkability: About 10 minute flat walk from AO Arena and Manchester Paddington. Food & drinks: Didn't sample the bar food but menu looks great. Breakfast was delicious
My partner and I have come to stay for Parklife. We were greeted with the friendliest and informative arrival - could not complain. The room is on the smaller side but everything you need is within that room. We were equipped with a fan, iron, ironing board, kettle, and toiletries. The breakfast is made to order and is included in our stay. My partner is vegan and the breakfast is exactly what we wanted. Such kind, talkative and friendly staff. I couldn't complain at all. We had a smart TV so we weren't watching Freeview. The room was thought about and cared for our stays. Rooms: Amazing rooms! Nearby activities: Right next/in the city centre. Food & drinks: Food is fantastic and vegan options!
Great location to city centre a couple minutes walk and train station. Around corner from Manchester Cathedral, which is just beautiful, short walk to attractions such as museums and 5 minutes walk to all the shops. Room was really spacious and extremely clean. Bed was super comfy. Shower in our bathroom was hot!! easy to adjust though if too hot for some. Stayed Sunday to Tuesday, pub quiz night on the Sunday, which was great fun!! Food is lovely, our breakfast both mornings was delish!!! Had a few games of pool with drinks on the Tuesday before we left for the train in the afternoon. Great atmosphere and the service the team provided throughout stay was fab . Would definitely stay here again.
Friendly staff, fantastic bar in a great location. Premier Inn wouldn't let us check in 10 mins early so popped here for a few. Staff were great, let us know about the accommodation that looks great too Nearby activities: Right by the arena and football museum.
We come here every Sunday for the quiz, and it's always a blast! The atmosphere is fantastic, and Ray is a wonderful quiz host who keeps things lively and engaging. It's the highlight of our week!
If you stay here it's best to ask not to have the quality street room if you're not much of night person as that's right above the speakers in the pub, so the noise will be very loud until 10:30pm. Shame we didn't get the breakfast because they only had one cook and that cook was ill, so got told to go to their sister hotel the mitre , when we went there the breakfast wasn't even prepared, waited 5 minutes and had a coffee, told there was a waiting time of 20-30 minutes for hot breakfast to be ready, by this time we had to leave to go to the train station. I'm sure on other days the experience would have been much better. Overall it's still a good place for the price.
Great place to stay Even better if you like sport, due to down stairs is a sports bar .Staff were lovely .Had an early flight and still offered to make me tea and toast before I left Great team. Rooms: Everything provided. Comfy bed.
Bar staff are rude cold and dismissive. No service with a smile and don’t even acknowledge you when you approach to order. Serve other customers who clearly got there after you, first. I wonder why?Service: 2/5
