The Sunday meals were excellent. The staff were friendly and obliging. I would have given five stars but with the closing early at 9pm and us sitting to eat at 6.45pm we would have liked to relax after the meal with friends in the lounge or bar after the meal but this wasn't possible.
Our first visit. Good size car park and a very pretty well lit entrance that enticed us in. We were not disappointed with the warm welcome and Christmas ambience. Service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. Food was good, well presented and filling....
We were meeting friends for Sunday lunch, the atmosphere was fab, a proper family pub/restaurant, the staff seemed attentive and seated us promptly. It took an age for the staff to take our order then we had to chase our food after waiting an hour. The food looked fab, the beef was pink and tender but the veg was hard, the mash cold and the Yorkshire pudding was soft. The gravy was great. We complained and were told that the usual chef was off and they were short staffed but they did compensate to apologise. Which was admirable. Our friends eat here regularly and say that it us normally much better, so let's hope it was a one off
ALWAYS a fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff and relaxed feel. Plenty of space in bar and restaurant areas so not to feel over crowded and squeezed in. Amazing food, never had a bad meal, always the best quality, great flavours and portion size. The Sunday roast is just amazing. Highly recommended x
I am very sorry to say that our visit to the bird in hand last night was not good.We arrived at 7pm . Those of us who had starters were very good. 7.45 we had our starters cleared and at 8.45 our main courses arrived . For those of us who did not have a starter they had waited 1hour and 34 minutes. That is not acceptable. Most of the food was not hot but I’d have enough of complaining .Another table had must better service than us . We are grateful 20% was knocked of our bill . I hope our next visit will be more pleasant
This was our first time for Sunday lunch, our usual spots were all fully booked and my wife saw a post on social media that there were a few spaces left for lunch. We were shown to the table it was pleasantly warm unlike some places, the staff were friendly and couldn't have been better, it was a beautiful Sunday lunch, desserts were lovely and we both really enjoyed everything, would definitely return.
Good food menu and very pleasant. Food served was excellent well cooked and presented and staff were very friend and polite. Well done all. Kid-friendliness: Get food selection for children had better than average selection. Parking: Nice large car park, so plenty parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to pub all on 1 level so toilets accessible to wheelchairs.
Giant portions, for me anyway. Lovely food, mind the chicken burger didn't realise it was a little spicy!! Nice atmosphere nice staff, but still miss the steak and ale pudding .
Lovely family meal, we had a party of 10 and the staff were very accommodating, great choice of gluten free and vegetarian options. Super friendly staff and highly recommend to anyone thinking of a Sunday meal out, or indeed any day.Service: 5/5
The waiting staff were very helpful, the food was ok. One of our party had to send back his roast dinner as it was cold. We thought that it would be exchanged for a fresh one, but was brought back to the table within minutes, obviously had been reheated in a microwave, which was dissapointing considering the price for a roast dinner.Food: 2/5
