Popped in on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was very quiet. We had an excellent meal vegetarian curry for me, lamb shank for my partner and were very glad we'd called in. The lamb came with loads of vegetables as well. Prompt and courteous service too. Would highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Stopped for Sunday lunch on way to our accommodation in Norfolk. Had a lovely Sunday roast in the large garden on a lovely and warm Sunday afternoon. The garden has a kiddies adventure playground near the bottom of garden. Service was quite slow as only one chap was taking orders at the bar and getting drinks, etc but meal arrived quickly. Food & drinks: Had roast pork with new and roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, parsnips and peas topped with Yorkshire Pudding. Lovely.
Friendly young man at the bar and friendly enough waitress but the quality of our food for the price we paid was absolutely outragous! What ever you do, do not order the burgers or the chips, you'll be Soo disappointed. It will make you feel like your world is ending! Funny that And as for the coleslaw it tasted watery and like it was completely calorie free. I'm sick of going to places that treat you like your 50stone. 'Fat free this', 'low calorie that'. Let people take accountability for there actions! The beef burgers that were served to us were almost certainly the 1/4 lbs co-op own brand ones that you get out of a packet because the salty cheap after taste is identical. The chips were dry and oven cooked. £92 spent on burgers that were half the quality of burgers you'd get at BK. Day light robbery. Such a shame for such a beautiful country pub. Never eating here again.
Absolutely lovely meal this evening. We are visiting the area and popped in on the off chance that a table would be available. Great, friendly service from the young man behind the bar and delicious, generous meals. Would definitely recommend. Five stars
Place stinks of smoke and like a run down care home. Service ok from waitress, however restrictive management creating overall poor service and experience. Not willing to go above and beyond for best customer outcome, even with the most simplest of requests. The pub was awfully quiet for a bank holiday weekend, this should have been our first sign of a bad pub. This pub needs a really good clean. Please use a carpet washer on the furniture and floor to bring back some colour in the pub. A pub is a pub at the end of the day, serves food and drink so 2 stars as it was open and served. Lacks service with a smile.
Everything was spot on. Beautifully presented, inside and out. Enough Adnams to keep even me more than happy. And huge, portions of food. I didn't notice ant areas for just drinkers. I may be wrong. That's all I'd pick on if that's so. Otherwise highly recommended
I love the World's End. It's been one of my favourite watering holes for 20 years. They cope with all the ups and downs of staffing, recession, pandemic whatever. There's always reliable, reasonably priced food, a friendly welcome and a warm wood burner atmosphere. They also host community events like Carol singing, do takeaway and reduced prices for pensioners. I can never understand why they're not packed out at lunch and dinner! Easy parking, lovely garden and playground area in the summer. Please support this super country pub.
Good food and great atmosphere, lovely old world pub. Friendly staff too.
I feel this Pub is being run by Publicans who have lost their love and energy for the place. Great garden, play equipment tired and not maintained, broken benches just left upturned, rusty screws protruding, behind a bush for anyone to meddle with. No sure which decade the fryers had their oil changed, they may have stopped this a while back and never restarted due to likely self immolation whilst undertaking this in a Shell Suit.
Garden is inviting in the summer. Inside looks dated,Do ask for the beer prices before ordering.Very pricey. £5-10a pint of Goust Ship. Refused to pay and walked out. Will not be returning.
