Oh I love this place. A group of 5 of us went for brunch on Sunday and it was just lovely. The restaurant is simply beautiful and the staff are lovely and friendly. The wine guy was funny and kept us entertained. The roasts were off the scale good, with rich gravy and melt in the mouth beef. It was £100+ per person for shared starters, a main and a shared dessert, but the few bottles of wine may well have hiked up our bill. A great place for a special occasion.

Enjoyed a lovely late dinner here with a friend. The cocktails are worth a try before you get to their impressive wine list. Whatever you do, come with an appetite! They do a great modern spin on the English classic Beef Wellington, and have great steak selections. If you're a vegetarian and don't eat fish, I'd say your options are slightly more limited for mains but they have some lovely veggie starters. We didn't have room for dessert, but it looked delicious. If you're looking for somewhere for quiet conversation, look elsewhere. This place is busy, busy, busy with a lively, buzzing atmosphere.

I like Berners Tavern a lot, the dining room is a vast triple height room decorated in a slightly gaudy Manor House style, there is wit to the interior which pulls it back from falling into total pastiche. I can’t recall having a bad meal here but have on occasion had a plate of food that could have been improved. The menu always has something tempting to make you forget running, dieting etc etc. My last meal was the Mac cheese with short rib, I could barely get out of my chair when I’d polished it off and guilt tripped myself all the way home on my gluttony! A very well stocked wine cellar and decent cocktails. I tend to use Berners Tavern to have dinner with colleagues rather than friends but this isn’t a hidden criticism. There are good and bad tables but this is ultimately subjective, but if you want a steer and find your being guided to the top left corner of the dining room I’d start looking around to see where else you could be seated.

Love this place. It's an excellent spot to dine alone actually. There is so much graceful kitchen and floor activity as well as up to the ceiling walls filled with art that one hardly needs a dining companion. Attention to food and service is paramount.

It was a mixed bag unfortunately. Started of with a couple of glasses of bubbly and shortly after our starters came. I tried everyone's dish and they we're all fantastic. We're those kind of people that pass food on forks across the table to get a taste of everything and I couldn't decide who chose best. For the mains it was 50/50. Two had the cod which was delicious and a pleasantly fresh dish. I opted for the Rib eye which was nothing to write home about. Middling in flavour and texture. But the let down was the schnitzel, it was quite tough and insipid, served with an egg where the white was cooked on the underside. A shame really.
