If I could give zero stars I would. The food was genuinely some of the worst I have eaten. Browns must be saving a fortune what with not using any salt and pepper on any of their dishes. The water glass on the table had a lipstick stain on, when I asked for a clean one, the waitress didn't even think to apologise. Two of the main courses came a long time after the others and some people had almost finished. Saw the main character from Ratatouille (the rat) scurrying across the floor at around 11pm. It came up from the kitchen and brazenly went across the floor. N.B It wasn't actually a rat but a small mouse. When I told the member of staff his response was "Oh I'm scared of mice". Why this place is so busy is beyond me. And at £50 a head was extortionate.

When someone from outside London says "Let's meet in Covent Garden/Leicester Square" (because they know no better) this is probably one of the best places you're going to find. The venue is impressive inside and out, the drinks menu decent and considering the area, pretty good value. The staff, however, are questionable. The rude bald manager chap shouldn't be working in hospitality. Probably more suited to a job away from customers or people in general. Maybe farming? Also, one of the barmen was creepy AF. (The chap at the door was nice, but I must assume he was from an outsourced security company).

It was incredibly busy, and the service started a bit average. But the food was better than expected and the waiter really opened up when we forced him to talk. It's medium priced, but the food is worth the price. Prices range from approx £12 - £17 for standard mains, or you can go for steaks which go for £25+. I had the steak and Guinness pie. The steak was awesome, but I would have like a better pie topping - although the actual visual on the topping was awesome.

Brown's is ideally placed for the West End and Covent Garden. It is an imposing building on St Martins Lane. We had a very enjoyable time there after booking online for lunch. Service is friendly and the food is very good. The menu is typical of many restaurants with classic dishes like fish and chips and steak. As well as some others. The dining areas are large with high ceilings and this is one of the best restaurants at a decent price level in this area. I will be booking again. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

A poor experience. Restaurant cold. Food average. Fish pie poor. A complaint got a drink taken off the bill. It would have been more appropriate to take money off the food. Browns is not a cheap place. It should be much better than this. Won't be visiting again.
