Truly appalling service. I booked a car online with plenty of time in advance and paid in advance, only to turn up at their premises to collect to be told point blank they had no car for me.

In fact, they didn't have a single vehicle on their car lot, so I couldn't even get an upgrade, paid for or not.

They took my money readily enough, but didn't think to check their inventory beforehand.

The response of their representative at the services desk was "Well.... At least you're getting your money back." Arrogant P.O.S.

This is the 21st century. It is not beyond the realms of possibility to design an online rental system that will give a live update as to the number of vehicles they have at each rental site on a given day. I designed databases that could cope with that kind of simple information at school as a teenager.

Pathetic customer service, and their staff did not give a flying fudge that I was left in the lurch without a means of transportation that I had ALREADY paid them for. It also took them 7 days to refund me!

I would strongly recommend you avoid Avis like the plague.

Utterly disgusted.

Rented a car no problems, when I returned out of office got a charged for damages I did not make or incur. This is a scam.
