A nice local convenience store with a decent range of products. The staff seem friendly and helpful. There are pretty much all the essentials you would expect from a local shop. I'm giving 4 stars because across the range of items and prices something is amiss. I can't say everything is more expensive or cheaper but you probably can get certain products elsewhere for a better price. Another thing is the fresh produce such as blueberries and cherries which don't sell quickly enough to keep them fresh. Overall, it is a good shop that has the potential to grow further, and it's always nice to see local shops around. If you're living around or walking about, have a visit.
I've only started working in the area this week and was delighted to see a convenience shop on my route home. It's lovely inside and the girl who served me was so friendly and bubbly. Prices are what you'd expect from a small store but there is plenty choice. Fresh fruit and veg, meat, wines and spirits. I'll definitely shop here again
Great local shop. Well stocked with a variety of quality, reasonably priced food - and great plants. They also do deliveries. Efficient friendly staff.
This is a fabulous little one-stop shop, nestled in The Grange, on Blackford Road. I remember my first trip there how surprised I was that they had fresh, local eggs, and high-quality breads and pastries – including croissants. And for a tiny shop, the produce, cheese, meats, condiments, and canned goods are really good as well. Basically, you can get everything you need here. Everyone is so friendly, too. Absolutely love this place.
Unfortunately I will not shop in this store again until the current covid pandemic is over, as I don't feel safe. The past few times I've been in there has been staff on the shop floor on there phones obviously checking stock but because they are doing this they are not concentrating on social distancing and oblivious to the customers. Today i was standing looking at the yoghurts and this female assistant moved straight in front of me actually making contact with my right arm. This shop is too small for this to be happening and checking of stock should be done AFTER the store is closed not during opening hours. I am a carer and I sometimes shop there for my client as it has some lovely locally sourced produce and in normal times this wouldn't be an issue but it's not normal times and I cannot put myself and more importantly my client at risk. In saying that if I received a guarantee that this wouldn't happen again, I would come back as both myself and my client think it is a lovely shop.
Friendly local store open until 8pm and sells virtually everything. Really handy when you run out of an ingredient like chick peas, cream, wine, yoghurt etc. Has wide selection of fresh foods and veg and they bake their own bread too.
Waitrose is cheaper ! phone the staff up and get them to spell that out for a laugh ha ha. The manager is a suspicious fella who fits the novel description of your typical Edinburgh wee shop keeper suspicious of anyone who does not look like their middle class and prospering , hiding behind the shelf's and observing certain folks every move IME. Also some of the staff like a certain young lad are verging on being an imbecile I asked him whether they had a certain product in stock , he just went "huh , what "? I had to locate the relevant product myself. The selection is mean and limited usually tipping toward the pricier then pricey end. Although coming here might save time then going to your local Waitrose in terms of choice and scope and for a weekly shop forget it unless youve more money then sense. Store looks like a wee village shop out of Take the High Road but judging by the changes in staff and factory sourced goods its not really. Also the server serve the bread rolls into the bag with their hands yuck !!!! At least if we had a Sainsburys here there would be non of that nonsense for a start.lol
Great little shop which always seems to be open when you need it. They have lovely fresh bread if you get there early and are great for picking up parcels from. Wish there was more shops like this!
Great little shop with fresh bakery and good selection of produce. Very friendly staff.
A lovely local shop with a great range of essential groceries, bakery goods and snacks and a surprising good range of cheese.
