AVOID!!! Do Not buy from this place, do yourself a favour and go down the road for significantly better prices and much friendlier staff.

When we confronted the staff here for their way over the top prices, we were told its our own fault for not doing our research. Do your own research and go elsewhere (Save £15 - £20 per bottle by just walking approx. 30 sec down the road to another shop).

Over priced by a large margin. Went down the street to Royal Mile Whiskies who were so much more easy going, pleasant and went out of their way to give suggestions. Prices were sooo much more reasonable at Royal mile whiskies. Went back to whiskey trail to tell them about the large price difference and the only thing they could offer was a “gift” but not a refund.

Over priced and dishonest. Avoid. Plenty of better places to purchase at. They bait and switched me on a "hard to find" bottle scotch. After tasting the bottle I felt  cheated and I wasn't suprised the bottle of "glenandrews" had no price sticker on it.They prey on Americans with lack of cell service. Upon looking up the "recommended" bottle online I found multiple supporting dim reviews. Don't believe me? You can get just about any bottle cheaper at most shops - even- on the royal mile. Keep walking. Two stars only for being open late. Stick to what you know here.

Really experienced and helpful staff, however I later found out that I over paid for the whisky I bought by over 30%. Very disappointing that they are ripping people off in this manner.

While the layout and selection is great and staff were very kind, knowledgeable and persuasive, I feel as if I, an amateur whisky drinker, was taken advantage of. 
Unfortunately, I forgot to check google reviews and use my common sense to realize that any shop on the Royal Mile will be overpriced. 
Shortly after buying the bottle, I did some online research and realized that I had overpaid over £20 for my bottle, which wasn't very expensive in the first place (£46). 
I went back and asked if I could be refunded, but only exchanges were offered, which wasn't helpful when I realized EVERYTHING was overpriced.
If you want a nice bottle for a proper price, avoid this place and go someplace more professional and less touristy. 
I would not recommend this shop to any friends or family.
