RIP-OFF fares going out the airport.

When the driver was asked the estimate to Darlington he "didn't know how much" and This Taxi Firm apparently dont offer a pre-paid option.
At end of journey, he charged as per the normal per-mile fare which was apparently twice what Darlington taxi firms charge for the same distance. 

This is the only sad thing marring a courteous driver and a good car.

Ripped off and overcharged. Disgraceful £7.20 to ponteland however only £4.10 back with LA taxis

Nice and reliable. Just be cautious and have local cash ready (currency exchange at the airport), because if you prefer to use your credit card, they will charge you a "minimum" of 16 pounds - no matter how much was a trip (4 pounds in my case).

I often use these taxis when going on holiday, simply because they are an official airport taxi, and can drop you off right at the main terminal entrance. However, the prices are not cheap especially for the return journeys back home. The drivers are a mixed bag, some are ok and others don't say much.

I rang up and tried to book a taxi for 6 people a week in advance for a very early flight, but was told (very rudely) that I couldn't book until the night before! WHAT KIND OF USE IS THAT?
