Your driver of the white Skoda Supurb estate with the badge number 1205 needs to learn how to drive safely on the road, especially as he's covered in the company's name and number as he's a danger to himself and, more importantly, the general public. At approximately 2:15pm today 8th June '22 I was traveling westbound on the A69 between Corbridge and Hexham, my pupil I'm a driving instructor was driving at 70mph. We, and the two other vehicles in front were approaching a tractor in lane 1 to which we moved across into lane 2 to overtake. The white taxi was approximately 1/3 of a mile away in lane 2 so we had plenty of time to overtake. However, the taxi driver was travelling at an incredible speed I would estimate at least 100mph the rate he came up behind us and came extremely close to the back of my car. He was so close I could only see the middle of his bonnet onwards. This is roughly one car length away, and at 70mph, is dangerously close. As we passed the tractor and started to pull back into lane 1 he attempted to undertake. After reassuring my learner driver it was safe to pull back in after she had to pull back into lane 2, she managed to complete the lane change. He continued to sit approximately 1 car length away still traveling at 70mph. We then exited the carriage away at the Hexham slip road to which we went for lane 2 as there was a slow moving tractor in lane 1. The taxi driver followed us, still 1 car length away, we passed the tractor and again attempted to change back into lane 1 to which the taxi driver AGAIN attempted an undertake. He then swung back into lane 2 and flew past us and the rest of the traffic. He then proceeded to drive about half a car length away behind a fellow driver several cars in front as we entered the Hexham area. I would suggest you have a chat with the taxi driver about his behaviour, especially being a 'professional' driver, as if this was recorded on a dash cam, I would have had no hesitation to send this to Northumbria police for review. Next time, he may not be so lucky. If you would like to speak to me about this incident, I am more than happy to arrange a telephone call with the manager and or owner of the taxi firm. 7th June, I have since seen the vehicle in Hexham and can confirm the badge number is correct and the photo shows the licence plate details, so easy enough for you to track down the driver.
Booked a taxi with this company on Sunday 18th December. Was told the taxi would be 20 minutes. Waited outside in -3 weather. Taxi didn't arrive. Phoned up and they said they didn't have booking, then put me on hold. Phoned again, they said taxi would be another 10 minutes. Taxi still didn't arrive, so had to get the Metro. Since this company became part of Nearby taxis, their service is atrocious.
My Husband 60yrs old was rushed into RVI early hours of Christmas Day straight into brain surgery !! Used this 5 Star Taxi service to get home one night from the Victoria wing RVI Not a problem !!!!!!! Husband amazed Drs after surgery and being in intensive care was doing really well !! They discharged him 27th so went to reception to use 5star Taxi Phone I could see a White 5 Star Taxi outside as I was talking to the guy gave him my name where I wanted to go etc !! He then said there’s a car waiting now I said Thank You I can see it !!! Took my husband’s belongings and walked him slowly to The White Taxi Standing I opened the front door said my name and he looked at me then my husband and said No!!!! I haven’t had anything through!!! I knew that it had been saw the look on his face English name but colour of my skin didn’t match!!!! Here I was standing with my poor husband in the cold just after having brain surgery and this horrible man wouldn’t let us!!!! SHAME ON YOU !!! Luckily another Taxi was standing I asked if he was free he said Yes What is his problem?? I Explained he was disgusted!!!!! As we were too We did get home Thanks to A Tunisian Taxi Driver from another Taxi firm so Thank You All I can say to you 5 Star teach your drivers that everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! is a paying customer no matter what colour their skin is !!! Karma!!!!! God works in mysterious ways!!!!!!! I will be looking further into this!!! Believe you me this is Not the last !!! funny how they don’t know the people they actually turn away!
I had the nicest driver ever. The company I work for paid for the taxi but I gave the driver a huge cash tip on top.
All the local taxis seem to be "nearby '.I prefer to ring and speak to someone to make sure they know where I'm going to and from. Quite a good idea to have a post code .Only 2 no in 10 years.
Would not recommend this taxi firm very vad customer service. Operator was very rude. Would give no star if possible.
Was gonna use the prepaid service, they said i didnt show up 2x when i was standing in the window, waiting for them for 70 minutes. when i phoned they didnt just send another taxi, but told me to call the hospital etc to arrange another, an extra 30 min wait when i was already an hr late from my apt bcs of them. They didnt rectify their huge mistake and laziness of their driver smoothly, but put more hurdles up when i am a cancer patient wanting to just get to my apt. They got me so wound up and stressed, last thing i need! Why does the NHS use a company with such low reputation?
Please do not use if you are on an eorport run. My taxi - which was booked the night before - rocked up 20minutes late. I mean, the driver was pleasant enough but when you are starting off on your travel journey, the last thing you expect is to have super stress at stage 1 of the journey!
Last night their only wheelchair accessible vehicle went off duty leaving my parents stranded. They'd accepted the booking for both directions in the morning, then apparently lost the return booking - not that they had a driver to fulfil it.
