A fantastic B&B. Jayne is so welcoming as is Ruby the Springer Spaniel and the Tabby cat whose name we never found out. There are only 2 rooms which adds to the appeal for us. The location itself is supremely peaceful set at the top of a hill the views are outstanding. We greatly enjoyed our stay last weekend and are definitely planning a return trip. If you want a peaceful quiet retreat for a day or two in a beautiful part of the country I would highly recommend this place. The Rose and Crown a short walk away is a great place for an evening bite to eat as Jayne only does breakfast which was delicious!
We had an excellent stay at Ackroyd House. Set in a beautiful part in the countryside, the B&B is in such a good location. Quiet and peaceful, we had two very pleasant nights. Very comfortable beds. Large attractive rooms with picture windows. Delicious breakfast. Plenty of room to park. Owner could not have been more friendly and helpful.
We have just returned from 2 nights at Ackroyd House. The house has stunning views, and the lady who owns it is a fantastic host. The breakfast was delicious and we were made to feel very welcome. There is a good pub, the Rose and Crown a short walk away where we eat two nights, food good and reasonably priced.Rooms: 5/5
The perfect B&B for my weekend visit - clean, extremely spacious with every amenity you could need. Jayne is lovely and has mastered the art of being there when needed but not over bearing. Jayne also altered the breakfast to make it vegan and did some research to ensure everything was so. Brilliant.Rooms: 5/5
My wife and I have just had a 2 night stay in this house ,upon arrival we were greated by ruby the dog ,And lily the dog ,also the cat which had a couple of names 1 which is named socks,Also by the lady of the Manor who is called Jayne,Lovely lady and really can't do enough for you ,We had the ground floor Double bedroom which was absolutely gorgeous, We will definitely be Coming back here Lovely peaceful rest we had ,Many thanks Jayne
A real gem! I cannot recommend enough! My wife and I stayed at Ackroyd House for short break in mid-October 2020. The location is stunning and Jayne is a fantastic host. All the normal pandemic-related measures were in place, so safety was not a concern. Our room was clean, warm, and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing! There were plenty of great restaurants in Holmfirth, which were still open and operating as normal October 2020. The beautiful peak district trails are a short drive away. My wife and I are already planning to go back, we really cannot compliment Jayne enough. Don't let the pandemic keep you locked at home; a great staycation is possible!
Brilliant location and lovely b&b with amazing views and very friendly and helpful host, thanks for a brilliant stay. The room was fantastic and the gardens are beautiful.
My Partner and I stopped here for 1 night over the weekend. Room was fantastic and the viewing were amazing. Jayne and Andrew were lovely and would recommend their place to anybody...
I have travelled all around the world and I have to say this is one of the nicest places and best hostess I've come across. and the value for money was excellent. A big thank you to Jane for making it so nice.
Booked just the 1 night B&B stay at this remote location, beware of the narrow access roads & lanes towards the house.Jayne the host was very welcoming & pleasant during our stay. The ground floor room was very Spacious, bright and clean which now included the breakfast table which was well presented.the covid restrictions put an end to the shared breakfast table before which I wouldn't want anyway The pre ordered time of a full English breakfast was served in the room & was lovely cooked ,served with tea/coffee& orange juice along with toast .The only problem we had during the stay was the creaking floor boards in the other guest room above which we found out on leaving from Jayne was down to the effects after a previous shower water leak in the room .This certainly needs addressing in the future & the 2nd problem encountered which definitely affected our sleep pattern was unfortunately the very large overweight walrus guest staying above had a very noisy non stop snoring problem ...sound proofing wile doing the floor boards would be a great investment, I just feel sorry for whoever stops below them next tme .
