Excellent location, beautiful surroundings with easy access to Holmfirth and Huddersfield. Lovely, welcoming hosts, nothing too much trouble. Accommodation very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and home cooked food, with huge portions, very tasty and excellent value for money. Didn't realise pub is dog friendly but when we return will take our labrador with us. Definitely worth a visit.
My family and I went to the White Horse for a birthday meal, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was picture perfect in a quiet but beautiful place, where we all enjoyed ourselves. I had the Steak & Ale Suet Pie with chips and mushy peas, it was delicious and very filling. I would recommend this establishment for anyone wanting a peaceful meal. I didn't stay in any of the rooms, so I can't rate them.
Just called in for a drink after a walk round Hepworth and Hade Edge. Had a look at the menu and the food looked lovely and great value for money especially with the deals like steak night on Wednesday 35 quid for 2 with a bottle of house wine . Will be trying the Sunday roast soon 2 courses for £18 . Finally got round to trying the Sunday roast and took advantage of the two course for 18 quid! I got the prawn cocktail starter which was decent but the star of the show was the roast beef lunch which was lovely and plentiful. My girlfriend got the fish and chips which she said was brilliant and again big portions ! She finished off with the lemon tart ... Both 2 course meals for £36 which is an absolute bargain! Place was almost empty which for the life of me I can't understand cos the food is top notch for the price ! Wednesdays is steak night and Fridays fish and Chips 2 for £20 ! Good possibility we will be back on Friday...
It was very quiet when we called on a Sunday evening. I don't think they do food on a Sunday night We were warming greeted by the young man behind the bar and the other customers, which was lovely. We must call for dinner sometime !
Where do I start... reception on arrival was warm and welcoming . Rooms are clean but poorly decorated, and the shower is AWFUL, no power, and no regular heat control. The bed was comfy, and excess noise in the hotel doesn't help. Breakfast ...... Such a frosty reception from the lady who looked like everything was an effort . Food was bland and mostly microwaved, and the fake HP sauce didn't help . Would I recommend this hotel HELL NO there are better places to stay for £98 a night
Excellent food, great location and very friendly. Dog friendly too. Rooms a bit tired, otherwise brilliant. Nearby activities: Summer wine country. Lots to do.
Went here for a meal. Lovely little pub, great food and friendly atmosphere. Log fire was great, too. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. Would visit again. Food & drinks: Nice local ales and snacks, great food.
Excellent food from the new menu! Well worth calling in for a nice pint and some grub! Nachos and Sunday dinner were fantastic! Will be back!Rooms: 5/5
First time stopping at the pub well recommend the food was amazing and the drinks too. Friendly staff Definitely stop againRooms: 5/5
pub where the last of the summer wine was filmed. There's a small section of memorabilia from the show. This is out of Holmfirth centre. You need to drive to it.Service: 3/5
