We stayed at Castle House Farm Cottages as a family of 4 adults. The cottage can comfortably sleep 5 with further space in an adjoining cottage and apartment. The cottage is truly a 'home from home.' Everything is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The bathroom has been recently refurbished with a great shower, and the kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering stay. It is situated just a few minutes' drive from Huddersfield town centre yet in a rural setting and with easy access to many places to visit it is a great base for touring.
We stayed at The Mistal for 5 months when our house purchase fell through.I can honestly say that nothing is too much trouble for Jennie and her parents Ann and Phillip. The cottages are spotless and very well equipped, everything you could need during your stay seems to have been thought of. The position is stunning,right below Castle Hill and there are some lovely walks. Once again a big thankyou to Jennie and her parents for making us so welcome.We'll always remember with fondness our time there.
My family from USA enjoyed their stay here for 2 weeks over Christmas. Despite being a family of 5 there was room for them and they didn't feel too cramped. The cottage is well decorated and furnished with good facilities and is very comfortable. There is an out door courtyard and you are surrounded by beautiful countryside and plenty of walking opportunities. An issue with the tap in the bathroom was resolved quickly. An improvement to be made could be a more modern shower fitted over the bath.
We stayed in the Stable for five weeks as our home was being renovated. This was an idyllic cottage, with fantastic views and clean and comfortable accommodation. It was fitted with everything we could need and we were sorry to leave. A perfect stay which would suit both short or long stay clients. Thanks go to Jenny and especially Philip and Anne, who were always on hand for any queries and very kind hosts.
We booked Mistal for our daughter and her family to stay in when we planned our Golden Wedding celebration in 2020. Alas, Covid struck and our celebration was postponed for a year. Jennie was very understanding and helpful and we transferred our booking to 2021. The Covid situation remained uncertain re events in the summer of 2021 so we cancelled the party but we retained the booking and we are so pleased that we did. Our daughter, son-in-law, two grandsons and dog came for the booked weekend and stayed in Mistal. They were impressed with the cottage. It was beautifully set out with quality furniture and fittings and was absolutely pristine. The kitchen is very well equipped. Fresh flowers in the sitting room area was a very nice touch as was the provision of biscuits and FRESH milk to go with the usual tea and coffee. TV /DVD and WiFi are a must these days for many people and the cottage has them. Charlie dog wasn’t interested in these but he did enjoy his walks to Castle Hill along the suggested route. We would highly recommend these cottages for a short or a long stay. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Jennie and team.
Excellent location. Stable cottageall cottages very comfortable and very well equipped. Have stayed here several times over the last 10 years, cottages are frequently decorated and upgraded with lovely tasteful touches; plants, fresh flowers, furnishings. Owners very helpful and friendly. Always happy to return .
We stayed in Mistal for a week and it was perfect for our holiday. The location is wonderful I am biased though. The kitchen is super useful, we love being out and about all day so it's great to able to come back to a home from home. Also loved the walk-in shower so convenient.Rooms: 5/5
A lovely cosy accommodation in an amazing location. This is a gem find and we will definitely be booking again when family visit the area. Some amazing walks with beautiful scenery.
Can't fault it. Simply superb accommodation. What more can I say.
