Been here before, about 5 years ago. The food was delicious. Stopped off here for a quick drink. Very nice local ale. Sat outside admiring the hills and scenery. A big camp site next to the hotel in attractive surroundings. Pleasant, helpful staff. Credit and debit cards accepted. Good sized car park too.
Room was very very dated with an avocado '70's bathroom. Sofa in room was broken. Room & stairs very dirty, looked like not been cleaned in a long while. At least we had a laugh bout the nets around the 4 poster bed. Pillows were like sandbags...
Beautiful place & setting can't fault thr rooms, stayed here before,,, however its tired & could do with a restaurant & the bar open many cars turned in the parking lot asking about getting a drink ir food , owner was not opening the bar or doing food, it could be a little gold mine especially being near horseshoe pass for motorbikes it could do a pie n a pint & have many visitors very sad indeed I can see tons & tons of potential & opportunities the setting & camping field could have a burger wagon n a outside bar ......missed opportunities lots if I win the lottery I'll make them an offer they can't refuse xx
We arrived at what we thought was reception, only to be greeted and shown to the room by Casper the ghost. The room was in complete disrepair… ceiling was a cup of water away from falling down. Dead flies on the shaving light! Taps had limescale all over them so had to use bottled water to clean my teeth. Bed shook that much if we opened the window it would blew over. No toilet roll. Shower isn’t worthy of the name felt dirtier getting out of it. Tv didn’t even work. Had bed bites from sleep on the bed. To top it off the room door lock was stuck it took me 3 or 4 minutes to try and get out. It’s a Disgrace if anyone sees this review and proceeds to stay there then bigger fool you!
On the road from Llangollen to horseshoe pass views are stunning across the valley. Grounds are immaculate and have a play area for children. Place was quite possibly because Wrexham match had started. Micro brewery on site but didn't have chance to sample it
