Great stay. Everything was clean, staff were very kind and available 24 hours a day. It has a bus stop right out the door and a metro station 15 minutes walking. There's great security inside, having to scan your card in several doors before arriving to your room. It has inside and outside common areas with table games and a vending machine. It also has a common kitchen with lots of utensils, a shared fridge and a shelf with some stuff to take whatever you need. We really liked the hotel and would visit again.
Perfect place to stay when exploring London on a budget, the staff were so helpful and friendly and the social spaces were clean and well maintained. The room was on the smaller side but what you'd expect considering the price and was perfectly functional considering we were only there to sleep. The beds were surprisingly comfortable although people on the taller side may struggle for space. It is also located very close to a convenience shop, a tube station, a large bus station and another tube and above ground train station which is great again budget wise because there was no need for a taxi or additional transport despite our luggage. It was also incredibly helpful that they have bag storage you can use if you arrive prior to check in which gave us time to explore the city.
Great value for money and does the job. 24/7 reception is great as well as the use of social areas downstairs. The rooms themselves could do with an upgrade as not all sockets work and the shower has no wall attachment unit however you pay for what you get. Large fans provided to combat the heat which was great
Friendly helpful staff, close to overground, underground and buses outside. Shared room is clean, tidy and well maintained. Love that the bar/cafe area has been extended with more options available. Great to see gluten free brownies which were very tasty.
Stayed here as part of a school group. The rooms were basic, but comfortable, lots of sockets/USB ports which is a bonus. The en-suite bathroom was a bit tired looking. Breakfast was very good. There was a nice bar area too. A good location. Service from staff excellent.Rooms: 4/5
Me & my friend got an absolute BARGAIN on a private en-suite room with a bunk, they put us in a bigger room with double bunk so even better cos we could both use the bottom bunks. Spacious as hostels go, I didn’t eat the foods but breakfast was available, siazable lounge area downstairs, we were able to get snacks/drinks upon very late entry after getting home Saturday night water etc. Staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again, no complaints.
The hostel is a decent place to stay for a relatively cheap price however there are a couple of things I would note. There is very little sound proofing as you can hear everything on the floor you are staying on and could also hear the noise outside however it became white noise. Towels are also not provided so ensure you bring your own otherwise you can rent one. The nearest tube station is Rotherhithe which is served by London Overground and is about 5-10 min walk or there is Canada Water which is served by Jubilee line and is about a 15 min walk. From my room I had a great view of the north side of the water.
If you don’t mind a very very doable commute into the city then this is perfect. Cheap, clean safe and friendly. Highly recommend taking the river boat into the city. All info can be found online. Don’t book, tap on like you do the tube and it’s much cheaper.
I stayed for a night at this hostel and I was surprised for the fantastic service I received from the staff. I would like to give a special mention to Manuel from Reception, who was really polite, friendly and attentive during my check in. When I entered the room, I was the first guest and it was spotless. Qudos for the Housekeeping team too! I liked this experience so much that I've booked a couple of nights more for next week. Thank you YHA Team!
Very friendly and polite hosts. Good vibes. Self-catering options, great cappuccinos, good wifi, and nearby public transport. Rooms: Small, smelling fungus around the window, and the beds are really small. I think my bed was among 170 centimetres, which is quite short. Noteworthy details: This YHA is specialises in school groups. So you're surrounded by screaming teenagers on a school trip. Wished I'd known upfront, I would have chosen another YHA location.
