The staff are brilliant and are skilled at setting the vibe, everyone I met was social or cool in their own thing and the spaces were just right for the amount of guests. The rooms and beds were about or above the usual for a hostel, personally I prefer that they invest in free dinners for the guests several nights a week and have a dedicated staff member take you out to the nightlife, that's the stuff that makes a trip a memory. The location is amazing, it's an affluent area so it's safe and clean, a stones throw from Hyde Park if you want nature/greenery or to go for a run. I walked to Portobello market and buses and tubes are close enough to go to other attractions around London. Loads of brunch spots and quality coffee around. It's the UK so everything costs way to much over cheaper alternatives I think the offering validates it easily. Also they have a green parakeet named Kermit chilling in the back garden that says hello to you
Best experience I’ve had at a hostel, which is owed almost entirely to the people there. The atmosphere is social and friendly and the common spaces are enjoyable to hang out in. The staff do a wonderful job of fostering a sense of community and making newcomers feel welcomed. Daily activities such as a walking tour or pub crawl make it easy to meet others staying at the hostel in an organic way. I doubt it’s possible to stay at this hostel for more than 2 days and not come away with a new friend. I thought I was just going to stay for 2 days and ended up staying an entire week. As for the rooms & beds themselves — completely average: clean but not particularly comfortable .. what you expect from a hostel. On a last note, the location is pretty sweet. The neighborhood is quiet and the buildings are beautiful. Food and coffee are a quick walk away, as is the tube. Being right next to Hyde’s park is incredible since it’s not only a great place to hang out, but also provides a scenic walking path towards Buckingham palace, and from there, Big Ben and the rest of central London are super close by. 10/10 highly recommend Rooms: Standard
I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The staff is fantastic and incredibly friendly. Everyone had a respectful and welcoming attitude, and I met some amazing people during my stay. The numerous get-togethers organized by the staff made it easy to have a great time as a solo traveler. I'm leaving with some truly lovely memories! :Rooms: 5/5
This is a hostel that has common bath and toilet outside of rooms. The toilet and shower are separate rooms located in a common hall. I have been to many hostels and this is the most unclean one in my experience. It gets dirty quickly so start showering early morning. If you are a solo traveler looking for social events and clubbing only, this hostel is for you. If you want quietness and have your own agenda, maybe reserve a private room elsewhere. The party going is so hard here that people come to the room between 3 am and 5 am and then wake up at 12 pm. The type of people this hostel attracts are those who just moved to London with no plan and want to party together with tons of drinks. For being near central London it is cheap. Also hostel staff are super nice. Walkability: Next to Queensway station as well as Baywater. Walkable to Paddington station.
I can see why it’s rated so highly! Would happily return! The most notable thing is the atmosphere, everyone is very kind & inviting : Only issues are: Due to ya know dozens of travelers some people can be noisy 1am in the morning Rooms don’t have AC and it can be a bit difficult to sleep comfortably w the pillows provided Safety: Nice area! Walkability: Again close to rail station Food & drinks: Food everywhere & close to rail station
Hostel staff is super nice and friendly! Rooms don’t have AC + air don’t circulate = humid sensation + smell + damp atmosphere. Showers are very tiny cubicles with almost no room to change at least those on the 3rd floor. The sinks outside the showers are really tiny that it gets messy everywhere with water + there’s no place to put your stuff. I’ve been in different hostels in other cities and shared room with several people but here I woke up the most during the night. Location was ok.
Truly the best Hostel I´ve ever stayed at! The staff there is amazing!! Also everybody I met there was really nice. There are activities everyday, the common areas are really nice and clean. I enjoyed my stay there very much and I will definitely book this Hostel again when coming back to London. :Rooms: 5/5
Amazong stuff, activities, great vibe, clean. All tiny but expected at this range. Beds could be better, a little more stable or fixed to the wall. I woke up every time person below turns around.
The hostel is well located, the staff is very attentive, the guests are young and lively. The best of all are the activities organized by the team, from dinners to walking tours and pub crawls. The staff makes an effort to ensure that everyone interact and gets to know each other. it is impossible to feel alone when staying at Urbany Hostel
Best hostel I’ve stayed in! Really social vibe while not being an over the top party hostel. Outdoor terrace was great to meet new people. Such an awesome location felt really safe at night unlike other hostels in london I’ve stayed at. Staff super friendly and helpful at all hours by organising activities. Neve on the front desk was awesome when I arrived and left. Facilities cleaned constantly. Overall super happy and will defo be back next time in London!
