Love this place and very grateful they're keeping live music going. Unfortunately the drinks are on the expensive side especially when you've paid £20-25 for the ticket. Had a great evening though - the bands were great. Tenacious G were very entertaining and my personal favorite act. Eminem was decent. The Sum is 41 and Forevernesance were fine though I'm not a big fan of the original bands anyway. We didn't stay for Nic Cage Against the Machine - nothing left in the tank to give by that point. Great afternoon though.
Amazing friendly atmosphere, sent to see strung out and they did not disapoint! Got up close and sound system was wjat yous evpect. Quality!!Drinks very reasonable and staff friendly. Waiting around in the downstairs bar for the late crown and was a chilled vibe, cool DJ and a great mix of people. Got talking to a few unique characters from D&D group, baby reindeer lady and the poor bloke she pulled, to a raving neon group doing a poll on what everyone things about polyamory!! Hot and sweaty during the gig, so girls take stuff to freshen up! Toilets clean, can take drinks outside between gigs and get talking to other fans. Left when it closed at 4am so a really good night!!

Excellent bar, hostel, and live music venue. Great selection of beers, real ales, ciders and spirits. Seen some excellent bands here, from tiny one person troubadours at open mic nights to gargantuan globetrotters. Highly recommend this venue, any night of the week. Long live the New Cross Inn.
Perfect punk palace if that’s your thing. The place is dirty as hell, the staff makes you fell like you’re in a « Karen’s diner », the smell of piss from downstairs is unreal. Great bands and good sound. Location make is easy to reach, easy to get away from.
Great venue for live music, with a well stocked bar, drinks deals, lively crowd. Been to see a number of events from normal 3- and 4- band lineups to full multi-day festivals. Good connections to rock and metal scene, as well as a number of more extreme events from punk and grindcore.

Great venue for live music! Especially if you're into your metal, punk, and rock stuff! I have been here a few times now and there's always a nice atmosphere and a decent crowd! So, if you're in the area and stuck on what to do on a night out and you enjoy the above music genres, then give this place a go! You won't be disappointed! ;D
I went to see Soft Machine. The place is reminiscent of the lots and lots of Venues that London used to have a bit everywhere. It's far from being glamorous, but it's cosy and regardless of where you stay, you're only a few metres away from the stage. It's a standing venue with a handful of stools. Apart from the main Bar where you can get a pizza, the Stocks Bar downstairs helps to get served quicker when the place is full. There are gigs almost every night. The ambience is great! The Opening Hours are: Monday to Thursday: 6pm – 3am Friday & Saturday : 6pm – 4am Sunday: 6pm – 2am The Tube station is 200 yards away, and the Train station us also nearby. There's several street food places all around the venue where you can get a Burger or some chicken. It's definitely worth a visit!
