Good and friendly staff. Clean rooms, although the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbours talking. No towels or shower gels. Sink too small so the bathroom floor is almost always wet. One bathroom and toilet in one room isn't enough for the 20 people who are sharing it. Overall good accommodation for the price but the quality of service could be improved.
The staff is very friendly. The hygiene is basic. It is pretty noisy at night, unlike other hostels we've been in. The location is great, next to St Paul's cathedral, we do hear its bells every hour though... There are no curtains around the beds, so no intimacy. I think our experience would have been better if our roommates weren't so noisy, washing their clothes in the sink while everyone was asleep, turning the light on at 6 am and slamming the door each time. I also think there should be more showers, the queue was very long in the morning. Lastly, the usb consoles do not all work, so I would recommend checking them before choosing your beds.
Seems like they regularly host school trips. Hundreds of children running around the full hostel, there was no room to move in the dining area at some times and we were awoken at 6am by running children in the corridors. When I then decided to go for a shower, there was a group of people sitting around chatting in the hall right in front of the toilets and showers, on the ground, for some reason. Staff didn't seem to care. Place is a bit of a circus.
The curtains in our room doesnt close all the way, the shower is broken and the sink is absolutely filthy. And our room was situated next to loud pubs and a bloody truck offloading site. For such a price i expected better. Great location, very close walking distance to major sites e.g. covent garden
This is the best place to stay of you are around central London. Highly safe premises. It lacks kitchen, which is a major issue for me. But soon the management is planning to open one. The rooms and facilities are not that great when compared to other YHA. Still this is one of the best in the area. Excellent staff. But the entire area feels little suffocating when compared to the other YHA nearby. It is right next to St. Paul's cathedral. All restaurants are available nearby. Overall it's a good place to stay if you are travelling alone or with your partner.
Great place out of the city centre. Wonderful accommodating staff. Parking at bottom of driveway in the street.Rooms: 5/5
Decent hostel, good for one nights stay. I had a 8 bed dorm, beds were comfy but quite narrow. St Pauls bells rang every 15 minutes even during the night! Service and location were excellent, but only good for 1-2 nightsRooms: 3/5
Good location, right by St Paul's Cathedral and a five minutes walk from three tube lines. The facilities however are old and dated. There is construction and repair being done all over, rooms and common areas are dirty and so are the bathrooms. On a calm street in the middle of a very busy area. Helpful staff and reasonable prices for London and that area.
You can hear St Pauls bells every hour but if you like that cool great beds and great location 3rd best YHA in LondonRooms: 4/5
Not bad for a youth hostel. I booked a two-bed private room for my friend and myself to split. It was comfortable enough, and it was nice having a wash sink in the room so that we didn't need to go to the shared toilets every time we needed a sink. The beds had built-in power outlets, however they didn't really work well. We ended up using the wall outlets to charge our electronics. We were also right next to the showers but one of them was out of order. The toilets were at the end of the hall but one of them was out of order as well, so I ended up needing to wait for one to become available a couple times. It wasn't too noisy considering we were facing a busy street and some people complain about the bells coming from St. Paul's being distracting as they ring essentially every 15 minutes, but I got used to it pretty quickly and was able to sleep just fine. Wifi is only available in the shared spaces and not the rooms, so that might be difficult for people who rely on wifi connection. We didn't take advantage of their breakfast offerings, though they seem to have a nice variety of hot and cold food to choose from. They even seemed to have a couple vegan items that I could have eaten, but I wasn't going to pay nearly £10 just to only eat like two items. Check in and check out were easy.
