We booked the room good for big groups because there were 8 of us. Highly recommended for big group because i think it can accommodate up to 14 people. It is composed of bunk beds. I can say that the space between the top and bottom bed is quite small and can easily bump your head. I ended up sitting around using the floor so i won't hurt my back and my head. They have free wifi, hot and cold shower though you need to set high the shower to experience warm water. The room heater is not enough for the whole room.
Great place to stay especially for students. Very friendly staff, lots of social spaces and extremely cheap and clean rooms with nice facilities. Paid 80 quid pp for 4 nights and was awesome. Can’t wait to come again!Rooms: 5/5
Very good for the money staff friendly and helpful shame TV and WiFi don't work ! Well in the room I was in. Towels available at £2 witch is ok and hot water provide by staff when asked as no kettles in the rooms over all very pleased
Located in the center of NC so it's easy to get anywhere, the service was nice, the rooms are fine even when I didn't totally like the bathrooms, there was no ventilation in them but still it's worth for the price.Rooms: 4/5
Staff were friendly. Rooms are nice, 4 beds 2 bunks, reasonably clean, but very very VERY noisy. It’s nearly 5AM and a lot of drunk guests outside on the street all night long screaming, laughing, talking… no one does anything to stop them… so frustrating when you are exhausted and isn’t able to rest due to lack of respect…
The staff didnt say anything about having people in the room who are not guests not to stay just to be in there. The staff wouldn't give there names to make a complaint as there customer service was shocking I asked for a copy of company policy which I was told rudely it's online also wouldn't give surnames as there could be more than one Brandon or Aaron working for YHA The manager I assume to be on a power trip has now explained I am barred from YHA purely for asking for names to make a complaint which is fine as you couldn't pay me to stay in there again ahaha crazy people
Staff were friendly. Told us 3 times not to smoke in the room which we never do anyway. Rooms are nice, 4 beds 2 bunks. Big TV, nice decor and toilet has a shower too. 4 charging ports for phones and other devices, 2 on each. Recommend if you're on a budget.Rooms: 4/5

The room was run down, windows did not work properly two bolted down, it was very dirty - hairs of different people were in the room and the bathroom, it was dusty and there was an old stain on one of the bedsheets. The room door did not lock from inside which the member of staff didn't think was a big issue. Very disappointed as it was the kids first experience of a youth hostel, yet we had to cut it short by a night as we couldn't have stayed there longer due to such poor hygiene.
A real mix - please beware in my view this is basically a bar with accommodation. Expect loud urban nights. Check in took ages, despite 8 people waiting in queue the staff seemed to not have a sense of timely progression having meandering chats with each new check in. The staff member was however absolutely lovely and did apologise for the wait. The problem seems to be they are addressing the symptom telling everyone the same thing over and over to ward off random questions rather than addressing the cause - a complete lack of suitable signage. The door I first tried was not in use with a sign on it confusingly saying it wasn’t locked just heavy but gave no indication there was another door in use around the corner, and the stairs to the rooms was behind a door marked as toilets. That should start to give you a clue. Needs a thorough review.
