We went here for Sunday lunch, and as recommended on the website we booked a table in advance and just as well as it was very busy, so busy that we were politely asked to wait in the bar until a table became free. Within minutes we were called through and shown to our table. A waitress came straight over and took our drinks order and quickly returned with them and immediately took our food order. The food came quick which was fantastic given how busy it was. Its a big room and caters for large groups which we found quite noisy at times so if your wanting a quite Sunday lunch I don't think you will get it here, it's vibrant and busy and full of friends and families having a good time together. The food looked great the portion size was great and it tasted amazing. This place is in a really nice location, there's plenty of parking, and it's got fabulous staff serving fantastic food we would definitely recommend and definitely return.
Lovely little pub, friendly staff, lovely and clean - and the food is AMAZING. I ordered the Mamma's parmo and my husband ordered the Greek pork hanging kebab and they were both decent sized portions and the taste and quality were fantastic! Will certainly be back, we are arranging a return to try the Sunday lunch very soon. 100% recommend! Thank you for a lovely evening
Absolutely lovely food. I had the mixed grill which was tremendous and my partner had the fillet of salmon which is the first time I've ever seen her totally clear her plate! Would happily recommend and a special mention to a girl called Neve I think her name was, she made our occasion even better. Will certainly be returning
Nice pub/restaurant. Very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. The food was great and the portions were huge. It didn't cost a fortune either! Will definitely go again!
Food was delicious and the staff were friendly it's a great place definitely recommendFood: 5/5
One of the best places for Sunday lunch and great staffRecommended dishesSunday Lunch
Been to The White Swan before for family do's as they do good gluten free food. However, when I was there the other day, the potato skins were over cooked and hard. I love potato skins but these were dreadful and left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. The main course wasn't much better. I had chicken. When it came it was still on the bone. This wasn't mentioned on the menu and had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it. This isn't the first time the food hasn't hit the mark with some of our family. Overall, the pub is a great place for large groups but the food needs improvement.
I rarely leave reviews but after my latest experience at the white Swan I felt compelled! This place could be perfect! Great location in a village with no other pub-restaurant to offer any serious competition. Fabulous setting with good interior design. The food was good on the whole, although the vegetarian options weren't great. But what let's this place down most of all is the staff! We as a party of seven! We're made to feel like pests for ordering food and drinks, we had to order water for the table twice to the incredulous disgruntlement to the staff! Every time we wanted anything it was obviously a massive chore for them. When we were paying the bill, because we wanted to split the bill three ways, I thought the waitress was going to attack my wife at one point! Absolutely incredible! Never going back here! Why? If you owned a place like this, would you let a load of chavs represent you in this way! What a waste of what could be a fantastic venue!
Well, positives first. Cracking bit of lamb on the sunday roast! Veg was nice and dessert was very tasty. Negatives, service was shocking, couldn't care less attitude, mint sauce just thrown on the table when passing. Nice big bit of plastic in the mash potato, when told to the staff at the end her reply was 'oh really, sorry' & off she went. I'd heard good things previous, especially being GF, but won't be going back anytime soon. Went on mother's day and it was heaving as you'd expect but was a very rushed attitude, in and out, soon as you were gone, next table was sat. Not a nice atmosphere tbf
12 of us had sunday lunch yesterday and were not disappointed. Lovely, friendly, attentive staff. Very busy but service excellent. Food very, very good & lots of it. Will definitely be back & would highly recommend.
