Food was amazing and reasonably priced, only downside was it was very busy otherwise would have been 5 star's.
We were meeting with friends from up North, and they suggested the Toby Carvery at Kenton Bank. What a lovely time we had over an excellent meal. We found the place easily, just off the A1. And spent an enjoyable couple of hours catching up with each other's news. No pressure to move on, no loud music to drown out conversation, and plenty of space between tables so we weren't listening to other's nearby. All in all a happy experience
I had the Sunday dinner it was nice and with the free top up for vegetables it was huge. The place is nice with car park. It was busy as it was Sunday so we had to wait in a queue for 20 min. The meat was good, the vegetables were properly cooked. All in all a pleasant experience.Recommended dishesCarvery Sunday Lunch
We decided to pay a visit to the Newcastle upon Tyne Toby with our visit to this area as it was a day trip out and the staff there were just as friendly as our usual haunt. Being disabled in a wheelchair was no bother for them as they were more than happy to help us get a table before ordering drinks and then on to plate up. All 4 meats were there if you want a bit of all but I only had the gammon and turkey with nice roast potatoes and mash with peas, but I did enjoy it and had to leave some as I'm not a bit eater. Drinking machine was close by for us to have refills and the choice of different flavoured drinks was fantastic. I had no voucher to use this time but I do get them via email from time to time which is nice. If you want to get out of the house and have the food already cooked for you and served by the kitchen staff then why not treat your family, they will be waiting to serve you and there's plenty of room to accommodate. Disabled toilets and car parking spaces available, baby changing room in the disabled wash room. I would call again if I ever visit the area, was a very pleasant experience.
I really enjoyed my visit yesterday. The only sad bit was no eggs available due to a supply issue x apart from that it was lovely. Friendly welcoming staff and a clean and rosy restaurant - I have been to others not so well kept. Definitely shows that the staff are happy in their place of work.
Lovely hot roast dinner for a midweek catch up with family. The only issue was the toast potatoes where a bit under done and cauliflower cheese had no cheese. But apart from that it's well worth a visit and we'll be back.Food: 4/5
Would highly recommend… food was excellent quality and value for money… Yorkshire pudding were the best I’ve hadapart from my mams Bar/restaurant was clean, staff attentive when necessary… will definitely return
Called in for a much anticipated cooked breakfast after a busy night shift. So, really disappointed that the food was only just warm, which rather spoilt the whole experience. Surprisingly, even the coffees weren't hot! No option for fried eggs either? Previously, we have had some great roast dinners here, and were disappointed in the breakfast. The waitress was friendly and helpful however, on the plus side!
Went on Wednesday afternoon around half 1. Was told there was no table for 2 and a highchair even though we could see loads of empty tables we were asked to sit in the bar area with a 1 year old and use the bar on that side which seems odd. Anyway we left without eating as we didn't want to sit in the bar with a baby. Normally a decent place but can't for the life of me understand why we couldn't just sit near the carvery so we could look after the baby and be served a drink at the table.
Went for Christmas Dinner today and it was terrible food luke warm spillages not getting cleaned up off food service area the whole area was scruffy. Starter was OK but dinner was dry and just warm desert was cold crumble and cold custard. You would think for 60 pound per person they would put a bit effort in charging customers that price. I wouldn't recommend going here for Xmas day lunch and I will never go again. Terrible....
