Hands down the worst carvery I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Roast potatoes looked like they had been cooked on the radiator and were basically just semi boiled potatoes. The chicken looked like a small roasted pigeon. The Yorkshire pudding was flat as a pancake and the gravy was actually some how thinner than water. How this place has an average 4.4 star review is mind blowing. Toby carvery blows this place out the water and that’s saying something. Absolutely shameful roast dinner, will definitely never be coming back lol.
Really lovely pub and fantastic food The venison suet pudding was outstandingFood: 5/5
We ate & drank here a few times whilst visiting Hamble recently. We came for the HSB which was well kept, served at a good temperature & delicious. There were also 3 other ales which were all good but we kept returning for HSB. We had a lunch and a dinner here & food was good pub grub, tasty & hot but nothing exceptional. However, having seen a couple of pies come out which looked amazing I would definitely order one if we visited again. It was friendly pub with both bar staff & customers ready for a chat. Get a bit more "localish" then some of the pubs in Hamble which we really liked. Dog friendly to boot so all I all very pleased it was our nearest pub.
Didn't eat just popped in for a drink. Old place full of character. Staff really genuinely friendly. Drinks a lot cheaper than other places in the area but of just as good a standardService: 5/5
Nice older location with a warm, inviting interior. The staff were friendly and were good at chatting. Service was prompt and my food came out quickly. Didn't have time to partake in a full meal but I did enjoy my Whitebait which also was the first time I've tried the dish. It was quite tasty and I definitely would eat it again. Nice location and it was an easy walk. I'd recommend a visit to this pub!
Wow, the service here is stunning. The food was so good we ate here 2 nights in a row. It was lovely. Thank you for your patience with our party of 8! It was worth the visit.Food: 5/5
Only here for drinks today but specials board looks good. Especially Jamaican goat burger. I'll be back to try. HSB was in fine form. Thank you team.
Good place for dinner with decent service. The meals were deliciously prepared.Food: 4/5
Wow 1st time eating food here. The food was amazing value for money and tasted fantastic. The staff are friendly and there was a great atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table. Would highly recommend and will be eating there again!
Waste of time and money, great venue and I’ve known friends to have pleasant experiences here but service was appalling today, ordered 3 roast dinners, only 2 bowls of vegetables came out, assuming the 3rd was on the way we dished them up, when asked about the 3rd we were told, sorry the two bowls were for the 3 of us… not “apologies we will go and get that now” so as one of us was vegetarian they just had no vegetables with their dinner as we had put meat gravy on the others. No roast parsnips with our food that we saw others who ordered roasts had, the crackling would have been quite nice but it was absolutely caked in salt for some reason which made it inedible, I assumed it was done on purpose because I asked for extra gravy but heard others say how disgusting it was too. I feel we caught them on a bad day but seeing as the food is priced on the higher side it’s no excuse. There was a nice dog bumbling around though.
