Had a Sunday lunch here. Very impressed with the quantity and quality. The pub was quiet at 12.30pm but the restaurant side soon filled up. 2 course Sunday roast £15.75. Will go there again.
Manager can't be arsed with people. Dirty, dingey pub, atmosphere of a morgue. Put live acoustic music on a Sunday which is usually painful to listen to. THEY DON'T LIKE CHILDREN THAT MOVE OR TRY TO ENJOY THEMSELVES. THE MANAGER WILL SEND FEMALE STAFF OUT TO TELL YOU OFF!! Fine for dogs though as the carpet is hairy and a bit manky. Good note is the car park is ideal for using the Co op .
Called in for lunch the pub wasn't busy a varied menu, prices moderate. The home cooked food was hot and tasty with a speedy service. The only thing was it was VERY quiet and some music would have helped, will go back again.
£4.50 a pint of Amstel....WOW drinking beer has become an expensive past time. Average pub, but couldn't help not noticing just how dirty the glasses were!! Half pint glass covered in lipstick, water marks etc. If you're charging extortionate rates for your products at least make the effort to present your products in a clean and inviting drinking vessel. Would I return? No, sorry. First and last time.
We used to use the much beloved Ferryman all the time especially for the function room at the back. Despite the licence restriction due to trouble we continued to support our local. Had several lovely Christmas do's there but tried to re-book last year but despite promise from landlord of extension to midnight nothing happened, also could not seem to get a menu, just seem like he could not be bothered! Overall very disappointed as trying to support local business. Try the Jolly Farmer, bent over backwards to accommodate us we had a fantastic evening.
Nice and clean, and a vast improvement on the days when it was known as the Great Harry - a pub that instilled fear into most people. However, nowadays it's a nice, family pub that serves some good food at reasonable prices.
Dirty glasses with lipstick on. Awful first impression when asked if they are doing food told curtly not til one and then given a list of what they don't have. Stinks of dog and damp. 6 ladies walked in enquired about lunch and walked out as the didn't have any bread for sandwiches. So they lost 8 customers and the place was empty.
A good if a bit tricky pub quiz and lovely staff! Would recommend breaded mushrooms. Dining area new and well decorated. Dog-friendly!
Basic small village pub, only had a drink, decent range of ales, local and UK. But main bar was surrounded by around 6 locals chstting and enjoying pints, a bit awkward to enter and get to bar, they were dominating the space, blocking access, get 'orf my laaaaand to newcomers!!! Off putting to new customers.
Great pub, super accommodating for dogs. Tables outside were rotten and a serious splinter risk. Inside had a great range of drinks.
