Stark & depressing decor. Lighting, feels like a hospital. Not much variety of stock unless you are looking for white paint. Prices seem good for what they do have.nPoor chap on the till was juddering with the cold from automatic doors behind him that had sensors on incoming AND outgoing customers so in December those doors were open frequently.nAll other staff huddled & giggling in a group at the back of the shop.nNot a 'merry' experience so I think I will continue to use their competitors.nI thought after decades of research into retail that these sort of places had upped their game or closed down by now.
Two weeks ago I purchased loft legs and a few packs of loft boards to get started with the loftnI returned today and the only loft boards they have are of a different profilenI asked a member of staff whether they would be getting any of the other boards back and was told that they have only been selling this variety and not chipboard onesnHowever.nI rang customer service and after twenty minutes on hold I was told that I should unscrew all of the loft boards that I have fitted and take them back to the shop and get my money back or get replacement boardsnNot sure how likely that will work as they stipulate that returns must be in original packaging and original condition
I make regular visits here to buy materials. Decent size of car park and most things are easy to find in store. Staff are very helpful and on hand when required.nnOnly problems I've ever had is when stock is located in the warehouse and they're short on forklift drivers, meaning I might have to wait a day or two... Hopefully that's been improved.nnI've noticed the roof leaks badly on to the shop floor in wet weather - hopefully the premises owner will sort that.nnCar park does get very busy on weekends and in daytime during the week. Some don't follow the one-way system. It's easier to park this side and walk across to Halfords, Dunelm, etc. I sometimes exit down the right-hand side of Wickes when it's busy exit only; no entry.
I never appreciated how good the layout, quality, store tidiness and overall service was until we called into B&Q for a change!nHere we have friendly staff and customer friendly payment tills, happy with cash, card payments and no customer-repelling self service tills which are clearly inadequate for larger items.nGood work staff and management and we won’t be going anywhere else again and please don’t ruin everything by getting rid of the tills!
Good friendly staff, priced in line with other companies I've found them to be cheaper than the orange DIY company quite often.
