A phenomenal piece of green land with wonderful statures. It's quiet and has beautiful flowers on display. It lets you avoid the busy riverside road and enjoy some tranquility. It also has table tennis tables! If you're walking by make sure to go through it and see it for yourself.
I was walking by the River Thames and I saw this heaven on earth, it was very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend visit this place in the summer. The garden are within walking distance from Trafalgar Square towards the River Thames via Northumberland Ave or the Hungerford or Jubilee Bridges that cross the River Thames. It is just one of the gardens that form the Victoria Embankment Gardens created from 1864 following the embankment of the Thames by Sir Joseph Bazalgette. The garden laid out in 1875 by George Vulliamy has a wonderful array of shrubbery, bedding displays, mature London plane trees, lime trees and trees of heaven. Three statues stand within grassed islands commemorate William Tyndale 1494-1536, Sir Henry Bartle Frere 1815-1885 and General Sir James Outram 1803-63. Whitehall Gardens offers a hidden oasis enclosed within elaborate railings, reproductions of Bazalgette’s design of 1873. It is also a designated Site of Importance for Natural Conservation for its contribution to wildlife.
Lovely october afternoon. The weather was a bit gloomy but we still a great picnic. Located right on the Embankment in the middle of the city this little gem is close to many attractions and famous landmarks. If you are nearby its definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful little garden to sit & relax near to London Eye. Well managed garden with beautiful flower beds. It has also got table tennis tables.
A “flowery garden” I will call it !!! Here is cool and wonderful garden to relax, cool down and relieve the stress!! Multiple entries makes here such a nice place to be without crowding up at any of the entry gates. Just across it are the Charing Cross Station, the Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges. What to expect and experience here: nice cool shades, comfortable benches to sit, exotic views of the nature - the beautiful flowers , towering statures, table tennis . And fully kids friendly! Accessibility: wonderfully accessible for wheelchair . I recommend this sweet Gardens.
A tranquil and beautiful park filled with trees and blossoming flowers, numerous benches and 3 statues. Nice to relax away from the busy bustling life.
Such a gorgeous and peaceful spot in a bit of a hectic area. Lovely little oasis!
Beautiful garden, fresh air and very clean. Lovely flowers and well cared, saw gardeners working even today. My toddler realy enjoyed. Very nice experience, i come towards London eye and took the elevator come out to the bridge and walked towards the other side, were the garden was. When you step into that garden is like you escaping from Covid world, living you carried in this story garden.
Even in the moments after the state funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II it was a relaxing and calm place to sit and relax.
A quiet retreat from the Embankment bustle. And nearby a Statue to Samual Plimsole who came up with the Plimsole line seen on most ships indicating maximum load
