One of the earliest London Squares, dating back to the 1600's with very large trees, walking paths, benches to sit, and a few flowers. The Square is not well tended to and could use some care, but quite beautiful to pass through.
Lovely little space close to a busy area! We stopped here after our Holborn station tour and enjoyed a peaceful snack. The garden looked well-maintained and a great place to relax.
Considering the location, it is a proper park and it has a playground as well. However due to the location, there are way more pigeons/ravens/homeless people than squirrels , which I don't feel super comfortable with.
Bloomsbury square garden is situated in holborn. You can reach via russel square station as well... You can play with your pets and kids. There is small childrens park inside of this park...
Nice little park in the middle of the city for you to take a break from all the buildings and see some Green for a change. If the weather is good, this is not a bad spot for having a nice picnic. However if you're expecting a long walk this would not be the place
A small park in the middle of the city. It was honestly quite great as it allows people to escape from the big city but the conditions were pretty bad when I went there. Park looked dirty, there were many bads, empty cans and drinks that have been there for a while. It looks like the park hasn't been cleaned for a couple of days. It isn't priperly maintained either, grasses is taller than it should be and it is growing in places it shouldn't as well. Apart from this, the part was quite peaceful but considering the part UK has one of the highest taxes in the world, it should be way better displayed to citizens and tourists. Playground: When i visited, it was closed but it looked that it is a couple decent sized for about 10 ot 15 kids at once. Restrooms: Did not find any restrooms here and to be honest I expect them to be the same as the park looked like Dog-friendliness: Yoy can definitely bring dogs here and they'd enjoy as it has a decent amount of space for them to walk and run around Picnic area: Probably if you bring a small blanket or something similar you could have a decent picnic but this park doesn't really have a proper picnic are with tables.
Bloomesbury Square, originally Southampton Square, is reportedly one of London first Garden Squares dating back to the 1700’s. So it’s an important landmark and needs to be cared for. There’s a new kids playground which would suit up to 8 year olds, plenty of grass areas for a picnic and some bench seating. It’s a great getaway from the Museum for an hour before round 2. I would say that it’s now got a more unkempt feel about the garden beds and grass, I’m not sure what the council is aiming for here! Playground: Nice small play area for youngsters Restrooms: No rest rooms I could see. Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leads and clean up after them Picnic area: You could certainly enjoy a picnic in this peaceful spot
Beatiful park with benches and kid's play area, very close to the British Museum and few minutes walk from Holborn station. Besides it stands the enormous Victoria house.
A nice garden that offers a break when one is walking around this area. A few benches available to sit and rest. Feeding the pigeons seems to a good activity enjoyed by children. Saw a homeless man living in here too.
A lovely little square of tranquility near the British Museum. The plaza in the middle is perfect for small performances, make sure you check the adjacent boards for events!
