Awful, dated and smelly. The staff didn't seem friendly, they were smoking cigarettes indoors at the bar. This space has potential, I just think it's poorly managed.
I work in Wapping and this is definitely the company's preferred local pub! Friendly staff with reasonable selection of beers and a nice dash of East end character. Can be a bit quiet but that is a rarity for London so no bad thing! Tends to liven up in the evenings, especially with additional of Karaoke on Fridays! Recently opened a Thai Kitchen at lunch time too which is very tasty. Recommended!
Easily the best pub in wapping. Staff are great and friendly, cats are very cute and also very friendly! Always full of nice locals and I always feel relaxed when I visit. Would recommend. Need to try the food next. Also they have martini and that makes me happy.
Nice family ran pub with delicious homemade food. Veggie burger is very tasty. Wonderful to watch sports in and the owner often treats visitors to snacks on the house during sports evenings.
Went in on a Saturday night, wasn't busy but bar service slow, one lady on her own. Seemed to be full of young & old 'locals'. Not a welcoming feel in pub, run down & in need of refurb, fridges stocked with empty boxes on service bar, some draught beers labelled sold out, a pool table that only regulars had the knack of working & a messy beer garden. Thai food advertised served in day, cash only.
The pub owner is incredibly rude. Visited with a friend for a drink and was talked down to upon approaching the bar. He had a very xenophobic reaction to me at the bar. We left immediately - thankfully there is another pub that is actually welcoming nearby.
No frills, friendly pub. Cute cats in residence-- can be coaxed to sit on your lap. Advertises food served till 9 but kitchen was closed when we arrived around 17:30
Great pub in Wapping, good open space and very friendly staff and locals. Sports is always on, which allows me to catch a few games here and there. food is worth staying around for. Look out for the cats.
A local pub for local peo.... not really, we came in late after going to Pizza Express and the landlord I think was very friendly, talking to us about the area, about the drinks, about the different nights they have on and making us sign up for the karoake. It wasn't cash only, so not sure about that review, maybe a dodgy machine for one night. They had a pool table. Hello. They had 2 cats that walk around the pub, flirting with everyone. Brilliant. Lovely pub and better than any chain ones nearby.
The best option in the area for a reasonably priced mega-lunch. The entirely massive resident ginger cat seems to enjoy sleeping a lot, the beer garden is not over subscribed after 1pm and one can enjoy a pint and a huge lunch for around a tenner. The selection of beers is passable, staff are down to earth / friendly and the toilets won't make you nauseous. Including the fries, the 'cheesey cuckoo' burger option must be clocking in at somewhere in the region of 1800 - 2200 calories. So it's a boiled egg for dinner, I really couldn't fit anything else in.
