I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Dickens Inn, where I enjoyed one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The pub itself is nothing short of spectacular, with a charming ambiance that perfectly captures the essence of a classic British pub. The decor is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The fish and chips were outstanding. The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked with a golden, crispy batter, and the chips were deliciously thick and fluffy. The dish was served with a side of tangy tartar sauce and a slice of lemon, adding the perfect finishing touch to a fantastic meal. However, the experience was slightly marred by the service. While the staff were friendly, they seemed overwhelmed and somewhat inattentive. This lack of attentiveness detracted from what could have been a flawless dining experience. Despite the service hiccups, I would still highly recommend The Dickens Inn for their exceptional fish and chips. With a little improvement in service, this pub could easily become a top-notch dining destination.
We had a team lunch here a couple of days ago, and we loved it. The food was incredibly good. We had the salmon, chicken Schnitzel, and fish and chips. My colleagues who wanted halal and vegetarian options were also well catered too. There was an assortment of drinks to choose from. There is a bar on the ground floor. All at reasonable prices. The Inn was undergoing some redecorating externally, so there were some scaffolding about.. Once you get past this, the interior was airy, yet warm and well lit. I loved the dark stained wooden floors and the staircase. I think it was two or three flights of stairs, which was a bit challenging for some. In the end, the journey up was well worth it because the food was delicious, and the view overlooking the Dock was fascinating. We went during midday, and it was quiet. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available. We asked the waitress and went with their recommendations. Wheelchair accessibility: The areas overlooking the Inn have cobbled floors, and there are staircases outside and in the Inn.
Went to restaurant on the 2nd floor! The service and atmosphere were great and the place was very clean! The starters and mains we got were all very good. The only critic I have is for the berry and apple crumble dessert, it was really just fruit with oats on top and neither were seasoned well unfortunately. The other food was amazing though so it won't put me off from coming again!
Most underrated place in London, a piece of quiet while being meters away from busy historical monuments. Great food and service as usual. Very reasonable prices for such a central london locationFood: 5/5
Very good gastropub in St. Katharine Docks. Good quality of their food, especially their burgers, and beers. Good prices. No reservation is needed to eat and the order is placed via mobile phone, the tip is optional and is not added automatically. The price per person is about 20 pounds and up. Its facade is currently under construction but it is one of the greatest exponents of the site for its flower decoration. I recommend it!
Go here every time I'm in London. People are amazing, the service is excellent, and the pints are affordable. Food is so good. Highly recommend visiting if you are in London.Food: 5/5
I went with my boyfriend to see the Euro game between England and Denmark. It was his first time visiting and my second time and we both love it. The pub and the surrounding area is beautiful and especially romantic in the winter evenings as the lights come on. We ordered cheese burger and it was delicious. It’s one of my favourite pubs. I will definitely visit again.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the bar area during the London Marathon! Lovely service and such a fun atmosphere. Would love to go back. Wheelchair accessibility: Only accessible by wheelchair/pram to the bar area.
Great gastropub located in the heart of St. Katherine's Dock. Visited here having booked and were given a great window seat overlooking the harbour. The front of house was friendly and helpful. Good menu choices, good sized portions and reasonable pricing. The only downfall for me, was the scaffolding on the outside and building signs on the way up to the top floor although I do appreciate works do need to be carried out.
When we arrived, the place was packed, I think the aftermath of a wedding. We still got a table right away. The "order at the table" website was down, so we ordered at the bar. The lineup was faster than most sit down places take to come take your order. Drinks were made well. And despite several customizations to the order, I spit you not our Ultimate Nachos and Tower Burger arrived at our table in under 5 minutes. And, all the changes to the order were 100% correct the first time. And not a minute's walk from the Tower Hotel which I incidentally do not recommend.
