The location is perfect as it's near everything you could possibly need or want. The hotel itself is in two parts really as you have the older building which is cosy and architecturally interesting with its beams and the mural in the dining area well worth popping in for a drink just to see that and then the newer part with its bright, modern and clean rooms. The beds in both the older part and new rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms well thought out. The staff deserve a mention as everyone I came into contact with was friendly, professional and very helpful. Breakfast each day was very nice with plenty of choices to suit all dietary needs and the Sunday roast was great, a huge thanks to the catering staff and everyone who works behind the scenes. I will definitely stay here again.
A beautiful hotel full of charm and history, wonderful decor, oak beams, wall paintings and excellent food and wines. Exceptional service apart from one person who was behind the bar when we arrived. This was New Years Day at 3pm. So who ever that was needs some training he was decidedly off hand and unhelpful. Quite a few young members of staff could do with an older person guiding them This has always been a very special hotel . Will be back soon .
I grew up in Stratford, now live elsewhere but when I return, it’s one of my favourites. It’s tasteful, it’s cosy and always has quiet corner to read or chat in. It’s big enough so there’s anyways a table and the restaurant has an original medieval mural exposed but behind glass plus some nice 50s paintings from the bards plays on the wall. Chill place to have a pint on your own too. Haven’t eaten here for a while or stayed in the rooms but it’s always popular.
Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the theatre. Room was clean and comfortable with a nice hot shower. The old Inn dining area has a lot of character and the breakfast was spot on. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Will probably book again for next year.Rooms: 5/5
What a beautiful building. We was pleased with exceptionally gorgeous Macbeth room. Its great you're allowing your guests staying around until 1 am. Not to mention about lovely staff, looking after us so well. Thank you a million for having us, making our anniversary day special. Weve even found a cake and love birds card in the room. How lovely
If you're looking for a truly authentic and historic experience, look no further than this 16th-century hotel in the heart of Shakespeare's hometown. From the moment you step inside, you'll be struck by the charming ambiance created by the large chandelier in the entrance and the inviting open fire. The friendly and welcoming staff will make you feel right at home, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The character rooms are truly a highlight, featuring the beautiful exposed timbers or "cruck" frames that are so characteristic of traditional English architecture from this time period. The rooms are also well-appointed with comfortable beds, a dressing room, spacious metal baths, and solid wood desks, making for a truly memorable stay.
Welcoming and relaxing place to stay. Right in the heart of the town. Rooms were a good size and comfortable. Only down side was that the view was of a derelict bit of land at the back. Breakfast choice good although it did run out quickly. However staff were very good and service was good.Rooms: 5/5
We had my daughters wedding reception there yesterday, I’ve got to thank the staff for their excellent service, they made Bella and Sams day very special. A huge thank you to Hannah, Ben, Valentino, and anyone else I’ve forgotten. The food was fantastic, the venue superb, I honestly can’t thank you all enough, you made my girls day one she will never forget.
Check-in was quick, receptionists very pleasant, and helpful special thanks to Lelia Room was very comfortable and clean, just a little niggle the hot water was just a trickle no water presure also toilet seat was loose, we did report it. Breakfast was good with the exception of streaky bacon.yuk just couple more niggles, if like me you like sugar on your cerals that option wasn't avaliable, just sugar lumps also no sweeteners on breakfast table either, we had to keep asking the staff but sometimes to busy. But all in all we joyed our stay.
Absolutely wonderful building, so much character, beams, fireplaces cute rooms, very traditional pub, hotel. Staff are really lovely, helpful and professional. Good choice of ales, larger too. Nearby activities: You are in Stratford Town everything is easily walkable markets on Saturday and Sunday too Walkability: Weekend the town has walking access only, can be a nightmare to park however at the Swan you have parking. Easily walkable Town, the Swan has two ground floor bedrooms which is great. Food & drinks: Drinks at pub are a very good choice with ales too. Food was nice aswell, it deserves a visit xxx
