Really nice pub. Looks excellent. Was in a Sunday and it was very busy and the food coming out looked excellent. We just had a few starters but each was excellent. Sat outside which is a nice beer garden. Comfortable. Decent amount of space. Lots of parking but still gets quite full.Food: 5/5
Best Sunday roast I've had in a long time. Very tasty, served quickly by friendly staff. Quality cooking, lovely gravy. Cheesecake trio slightly disappointing.Food: 5/5
We had a wonderful dining experience here. Rebecca our server was incredible, made it so special and was great with my little boy. The Sunday roasts was amazing so tasty and big portions. Would recommend 100% one of the best meals out we have hadFood: 5/5
Called by for a pint with the Yorkshire Driving Club. No time for food, so unable to comment, but the WH was clearly popular at the time of our visit as many diners could be seen waiting to be taken to tables. Plenty of beers, lagers and wines to choose from, although the most expensive pub visited on our local travels. Loverly setting, well worth a visit again
Stopped for Sunday lunch and had the roast with trimmings.. Lovely flavours.. chicken was fantastic. Pork belly was dry and over cooked though and small portion of pork. Waiting staff were friendly and service was quick. Ample parking. Gorgeous interior. And very welcoming.
Staff member serving us was friendly. Service was incredibly slow despite it not being busy We waited an hour for our main course to be served after our starter. Had to ask the waitress what was happening with our order as no one came to speak to us and we noticed that customers who arrived after us had been served their mains before us. We were informed they were just waiting for the pizza which didn’t make sense as pizza doesn’t take long to cook. When the food arrived it was very nice , just a shame about the delay and lack of service during that period of waiting.
First time visiting for me and my boyfriend and what a lovely pub it was. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming especially our server Laura who was very attentive and checked on us regularly to ensure we had enough drinks and the food was right. She was very efficient and had a great personality adding to the warm atmosphere. We both had steak which was cooked beautifully and exactly how we had both asked we also had the 3 trio desserts which were delicious.
Really pretty little place with some great food options. Can be pricey depending on dish but mostly worth it. Scallops starter was stunning for example. Very nice staff and great service.Food: 4/5
Stopped for Sunday lunch, on the way to the airport, after a drive down from Inverness. Between our family of 4 we had the Trio of Roasts, Steak, Veggie Fig Roast and kids Roast Chicken. All were fantastic and resulted in clear plates. Nice atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and amazing food. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back - well worth the drive!!
It's an attractive pub. It's evident that there's been some consideration around the overall theme and atmosphere. Service was great. She seemed new and a tiny bit awkward but was attentive and professional. The menu is not very extensive. However, it's still interesting and varied enough for most. I did note that it was very similar to The Pine Martin in Harrogate. It turns out they are part of the same chain. The food was served quite quickly, although the place was relatively quiet. Overall the quality of the food is very good, tasty and well presented. Portion sizes were as expected, just about right. Vegetarian options: There's a fairly good variety, including vegan options. Dietary restrictions: The waitress proactively asked about any food allergies. I would assume they would cater for individual needs. Wheelchair accessibility: Ample parking, with no steps to enter the pub. Good spacing between the tables. Noted an accessible toilet.
