The Wharfedale is a very traditional family friendly pub ,restaurant with accommodation.

Story

We have a large varied menu offering home cooked food using locally source ingredients.
We can cater for large parties in our restaurant ranging from weddings,
birthday's, christenings and other special occasions.
We also have a large beer garden and a smaller seating area.

Great Sunday lunch, friendly and helpful staff and some decent hand pull beers. A long wine list too. The beer garden is nice, and the restaurant is really big, so it's good for larger parties. Reasonable prices for the quality of food. The pub side is pure Yorkshire, a must visit on a winter's day...
I love this pub. Having been here many times I can say it's a lovely place, both in summer and winter. Food is really good and the menu is original and with lots of variety. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere warm.
Food is terrible. My meat had tubes in it, something you'd expect in a cheap greasy spoon. Meat was well over cooked and tasteless. A moody head waitress. Won't be going there again. Only good thing was the rest of the staff were friendly.
Have visited this place for years and had consistently delicious home cooked meals. Recently taken over and presented with a much reduced menu and less fish options. We had to stand round a blackboard to squint at the only menu on Sunday. Whilst I appreciate things change I was not prepared for being tersely told this was because it was going to be "of a different standard", and reasonably believing this meant for the better! Anaemic roast potatoes, hunt the meat in the pie after breaking through an inch deep pastry, and an over use of gravy browning. The tiniest chicken breast served on a huge plate swimming in a thick gloopy cream sauce which was all cold by the time the veg came. Roast pork you could sole your shoe with, flaccid doughy Yorkshire pudding and overcooked veg. Could not have been more disappointed and won't be venturing back unless reviews suggest it's improved dramatically.
Friendly traditional pub for eating with open fire. But we sat elsewhere with lots of choice of spaces, some with sunny windows, lots of wood and stout furniture, welcoming for kids. Hearty fair. Good guest ales along side good range of usual.
We have been here on many a sunny day for a drink in its beautiful gardens. We came on this occasion for lunch. The food was deluciis excellent quality and a perfect amount. The service was excellent and friendly.
Had pasta as main, more like a starter, even 4 year old asked if that was his main meal. Others in party were happy with their meals, although some £1.50 less, they had plenty
We called in this pub at 5 on a Sunday hoping they were serving food. We were really surprised at the extensive menu. It was a really laid back place and the food came in good time and was delicious. We will definitely be going back.
I understand this place is under new management. The meal I had was very nice and well presented and was reasonably priced, there is a good selection of beers and spirit's ect
