Just spent one night at the White Hart Hotel, Lewis the place should be shut down filthy, disgusting falling apart. No facilities, open ceilings falling down the room was revolting. The bathroom was disgusting. Do not go to this hotel and we’ve been informed that it’s closing down in four weeks anyway because they’ve sold it and they’ve let it run down. It should not be advertised on any bookings site we are getting ripped off, I’ve actually raised a dispute with my card holder to claim my money back do not go there
This has to be the WORST hotel I’ve ever seen. Went to check in and didn’t feel very welcomed there. Receptionist clearly didn’t make an effort in his appearance considering he was at the front desk. The building is extremely outdated, and the room we were given was extremely dirty! Dust, cobwebs, stained bedsheets and towels, rubbish left in the bin etc. We were in the room for no more than 20 minutes before we left. When confronting the receptionist, we were told that 2 cleaners had been in the room for hours cleaning which was obviously not the case!! We asked for a refund in which we were refused multiple times although we didn’t stay in the room due to the condition. Do not stay here!!
If I’m honest this place should be shut down, it’s basically a dump. Maybe the migrants from France can stay here instead. The smell when you walk in is old, furniture is as old as myself, only 1 beer on tap over heard staff talking about being made redundant my room should been made redRooms: 1/5
The room was dirty, decor old; wallpaper coming off / awful old mattress. The mugs had not been cleaned, shower was disgusting. Felt like it has been left with no care for years, I like old hotels but a minimum of care is needed. The pool was run down too. We left after one night, my back couldn't take another night in that bed. The prices should be lower for what is offered, the only good thing is the location. I sleep better when I am camping and that says a lot.
A beautiful room but not practical or clean. No cold water. Service is basic and no cooked breakfast. Location is perfect. Was looking to have our wedding reception here but after waiting for someone to call back after leaving a number of messages and now seeing the place, I'll be thinking twice. Patio area covered in weeds and not generally not well looked after throughout the hotel.
Centre of Lewes. Car park for plenty. Unfortunately didnt get to use facilities and we were going to Brighton on the beach concert. Beds were comfortable. Rooms quirky we both loved the rickerty way the rooms were set as extremely old building. All rooms facilities worked well. Breakfast was filling and plenty of choice. Friend said she would love to go there again and stay longer. I would too. Thank you for lovely stay.
This hotel breaths history, what an authentic place. People who prefer modern hotels should by all means stay in such "seen 1, seen all" places, but should not occupy rooms in, and certainly not disqualify authentic places like White Hart.Rooms: 4/5
Under no circumstances stay here. This is the possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in. Why on earth it’s still open blows my mind. The rooms are beyond dated and extremely dirty. Everything is falling apart, everything. Windows were more or less useless and felt like sleeping on the main road. Bed and pillows not up to scratch. Bathroom looked like it had been decorated by a blind man 30 years ago. I wouldn’t even risk using the swimming pool or gym, why they have the pool and sauna open truly bewilders me. Just throwing cash into the wind. The rest of the the hotel looks abandoned.
Okay stay, had some good elements and bad parts. The hotel is very historic but not all the mod cons are properly fitted or displayed well - for instance our room only had two plugs far away from the bed, the tv didn’t work, and the toilet’s flush was right by the ceiling above the sink mirror. You get a continental breakfast and the pastries aren’t great but the view from the conservatory is very grand and lovely. Overall would stay again given the location, price, and the nicer elements they had within - just don’t go in with high standards.
A hidden gem in a lovely little town lost in time, great atmosphere and amazing staff, beautiful swimming pool and old world charm, great value for money and I will definitely be coming back with the kidsRooms: 5/5
