So we chose this location to visit our daughter in Brighton as the Premier Inn in Brighton looks less than ideal. So glad we did. 20 minutes drive and we were in Brighton. Hotel is easy to get to, good location only a short walk to a Sainsbury's. Rooms are clean and tidy, staff are incredibly helpful and a good night's sleep.
Unfortunately a drug haven, corridors full of weed smoke constantly. Had young kids with us. For a hotel chain which says it’s family friendly, it obviously isn’t. I will stay away from premier inns altogether from now on as their standards are far below what they advertise. Room was not hoovered properly, mould on ceiling and bathroom, cups in room with dirty rings on them.
We stayed here over the weekend as it was convenient for us visiting family nearby. It was a 5 hour drive for us and we arrived at around 7pm. We dropped our bags off into our room so we could go for some food at the on site restaurant. To our horror there was skidmarks in the toilet, shower screen had water marks, grouting was discoloured, rusty soap dispenser and the radiator was hanging off the wall. We reported this to reception who were polite and helpful and they offered us a new room on our return after dinner. We were moved to the newer section of the hotel and this room was slightly better however again there was a rusty soap dispenser, dirty grouting, silicone on the plughole, only 1 pillow each side of the bed and the window wouldnt close. By this point we were tired and just wanted to get on with enjoying our time away as we were only here a couple of days. Breakfast was not worth 10.99 per person per day. Lukewarm is being kind!! My 2 marks are for the politeness of the reception staff and the food we had on the first evening..we will not be returning.
Room was 12 degrees when we arrived as window was open and heating turned off. Reception came to our aid and got heating working but the only way to get a reasonable temperature was to have heating on and window open. Cleanliness of room was dire. Hangers covered in dust, which we didn’t notice until after we had used some to hang clothes, those hangers now clean! Toilet hadn’t seen bleach or the use of a brush for a while, bowl covered in dark, disgusting stains. Bath had mould around and towel rail, and wash liquid containers grimy, bath plughole had hairs in. Carpet covered in bits. We have stayed in several Premier Inns and always been very happy, this was definitely the worst we have been in and will not return. No one around in the morning to complain to.
Stayed here a couple of nights. Easy to book. Where it is situated is not great next to a big Sainsbury's and on the A259, but I heard little to no traffic noise. Ideal as a base if you want to explore Brighton and Eastbourne.
