Appointments take weeks if you can get one and you will need several app’s for them to diagnose a problem, and if you’re having woman related problems forget it. They don’t keep you in the loop because they’re so busy, you have to chase them down for everything. The practitioners here are great, but the demand on this small doctors is so much I’ve considered going private, if only I could afford it. Oh and to top it all off I was a few mins late for an appointment the other day and they almost wouldn’t take me because there was absolutely no parking even in the Main Street, it was jam packed, luckily when I was just about to give up someone came out a space. Whitburn desperately needs another health centre to deal with the growing population!
This is my second GP that I am registered with. With my first GP I used to get the same day appointment whenever I would ask for one. But here at Whitburn Health Centre they will always ask you to wait for at least two to three weeks for appointment. It is very concerning because sometimes it is very important to get the appointment as soon as possible
I honestly don’t have the words to give you enough insight into how dreadful of an experience trying to get medical assistance from here is. There are a few very talented members of the GP team here, however the mass majority of the time you are treated with contempt for even attempting to get help. If you call first thing in the morning to get an appointment as they ask you to do, they won’t ever give you an appointment, and will instead ask you to call back in the afternoon when the appointments come out again. Of course, calling back at the requested time leaves you being cut off multiple times by their IVR system, and when you eventually get through, you’re told all appointments are gone and you need to call back the next day. Rinse and repeat, trying to get medical assistance is like living through Groundhog Day. I have had such an abysmal experience at this GP for decades, and it’s only getting worse. Whitburn GP is the reason that whenever I am finally granted the opportunity get to move away from this cesspit, I will first check the new town’s GP reviews to make sure I’m not coming to another place like this; Although, anything would be an improvement on this GP.nnFeedback to the individual managing this place - You need to seriously overhaul the entire GP because the growing population of Whitburn is only going to exacerbate these issues.
I have an ear infection and booked an appointment over the phone this morning. I arrived on time and have been waiting for more than 1h. I tried to speak with one of the nurses,just to find out that the doctor could not see me in the waiting room and cancelled my appointment. This is a complete joke. The worst practice center that I have been so far with. Unprofessional medical staff, rude and judgemental. I tried to change the practice but unfortunately no success. Every time when I am unwell instead of finding comfort and trust I go in there and I am faced with incompetence and 99.99% a medical prescription of taking paracetamol 2/day.
Good gp surgery always available for advice & help with my toddler xx
