As a newly registered patient at West Calder Medical Centre, I will admit, I was a little put off reading all the negative reviews. However, I telephoned them for the first time this morning to discuss my regular repeat medication and a couple of other things. The receptionist I spoke to was extremely polite, took time to listen to what I had to say, and I was offered a face-to-face appointment with a GP in two days time. Thank you.
Been into the doctors today and waited 101 minutes for my appointment. I initially waited 30 minutes then went to the receptionist for an update, then was told I would be next seen, then had to wait a further 71 minutes. This included the doctor taking in a wrong patient into the room 2 people with the same first name, no surname called.nWhat makes this whole situation worse for me was that I was sent home 6 weeks ago for a simple blood appointment because I ran 3 minutes late. Which was because their car park was full and I had to park further away and walk in. Then it took 4 weeks to get a new appointment.nNo thoughts given to my time, no sympathy or apology given, they only think about themselves. I appreciate the job they do but this is very unprofessional. I can see why this GP Clinic gets so many bad reviews
Partner phoned up told them she is pregnant and needs to speak to a GP about tablets for allergies, was booked in to see a nursing practitioner. Turned up for the appointment to be told she needs to see a GP and was told we need to tell reception she was pregnant which we did.... Kinda see why this place gets the reviews it does and why most people hate dealing with receptions at any doctor's. People are nice enough but clearly a lack of training at the first line of people you get through to.
Well never once have I walked in and was able to book straight in for appointment . Always a huge queue , infact my past two trips I have been called out the queue by the gp before checking in ! They must know how bad it is . Receptionist is absolutely disrespectful and rude . Waited weeks for a mental health appointment with them booked by them ! I use this word them sparely , as when turned up for appointment with Marco he was off sick no one let me know . My concern is and was not one person took on any care responsibilities for my suicidal thoughts and feelings to contact me too offer a gp appointment instead not one person took on the care roll to rebook my mental health appointment when Marco was back infact from practice manager I was told Marco and the mental health service they run is actually nothibg to do with there practice , it's through NHS. No faults on this practice ! It should have been me requesting a gp appointment when GP 'are general practitioners not physiologists or psychiatrist. It is very worrying and left me more anxious upset and lost again with no support whatsoever. Listening back to the recorded phone call from This manager is actually really uncaring , unconcerned and so dismissive. In her words if I don't like it go to another practice looks like that's what's on the cards . Shame I have met a good two Gp there too . Never lower yourself on too better things and places .
I recently moved to West Calder Medical Centre around a year ago, and it’s been the worst service I’ve experienced from any practice I’ve attended. I tried to collect my repeat prescriptions and was told I was no longer a patient at the practice. I had been unregistered due to incompetence on their part. I was not even informed and left without my prescriptions and in severe pain for two weeks. I had to register again and again was not informed that I was back at the practice. I phoned to see if I was registered and tried to explain my situation to a receptionist and was immediately spoken over after about four or five words. The lady was really rude and aggressive towards me. I was told, well it felt like ordered, to calm down and speak slowly and clearly. I have struggled my entire life with a speech issue and I’m not very good over the phone. She wouldn’t let me speak, I couldn’t get a word in for the lady cutting me off, sighing and tutting at me. I got off the phone feeling awful. After getting left in pain due their mistake and then spoken to in such a manner was a disgrace. Plus when I had to go and see a doctor to finally get my prescriptions, he wasn’t much better either.
