I have been a patient at west Calder health centre just under a year .the receptionist are fantastic My doctor has been great and listens to me your not waiting three weeks for appointment .after years of wanting to know what was happening with my leg I've seen orthopaedic great practise

One phone call has motivated me to leave this review. Rude and abrupt staff constantly interrupting me during the call and being very unsympathetic and borderline condescending. I think I'd rather register with a surgery 10 miles away than this one

I have been with the West Calder medical practice since before they moved into their new premises, and I cannot praise them too highly. No problems getting appointments and there are doctors and nurses available for emergencies if you need them, and I have. They even arranged a doctor to see me at the Eye Hospital in Edinburgh when it was closed, the same day, because I am a type2 diabetic. The doctors and nurses also make the time available to talk to them as long as I need to, no hurry up and get out that I have experienced elsewhere. Also conditions that other practices have missed West Calder spotted and sorted. In fact hoping to be declared free of diabetes at my next sheckup if my previous progress up till now has been repeated this year.
