Booked a spa day with the swim, spa and dine package. The facilities are excellent, the treatment was great and the staff are helpful, but the dining experience is a bit ridiculous. Having to leave the spa to head to the restaurant is awkward and breaks up the relaxing experience of the spa. When you get to the restaurant you're treated as if you're normal walk ins, which would be fine unless it's busy and then you're wasting a lot of your spa time on the 30 minute wait for food. A better system would be for the spa to take your order and you leave to go down there like 10 minutes before it's ready. As it's done like this, it's more expensive that the previous spa package and not nearly as relaxing.
Having given this 4 stars a year or so ago... this is now not so good. Once again stayed in Moleyns. There is a huge amount of building work going on. It was noisy and there are 8 foot boards around large parts the site. On one morning a construction vehicle was beeping for hours on end. The construction also affects access onto the whalesborough trail. The play barn has gone which is being converted into houses. There is a lot of noise from all angles. We also had no water for pretty much a whole day. The pool and gym are good and the dog wash was working with hot water apart from the day we had no water. We were told not to park in the space outside Moleyns although we were not told why and I used it to load/unload the car and then moved it back outside the gym. The owner had a right go at me saying he'd told my wife three times not to park there. We had no idea that there were issues with electric sockets under the parking area for moleyns we had assumed it was an access issue. Had they told us this then I would not have used the spot even for loading and unloading. So i felt this was pretty rude and with the lack of water the telly not working which they replaced pretty quickly to be fair I didn't enjoy my stay so much this time. You cannot walk out and down the concrete track to widemouth either at the moment even though there is a gap in the fence it is a building site. The house layout is quite noisy with the gap from downstairs to upstairs. Otherwise the house itself was cosy and nicely laid out. Location is marked down because of the building work and access to the footpaths and site noise. Service was good apart from the manager getting narky with me. I would probably not go back there now and definitely would not book until the building work is finished.
We stayed in the Warrens rather than the calf house, but this is our second holiday in Whalesborough and we love it. Cottages are warm, cosy, and immaculate. Love the pool, games barn, and all the walking available.
Great location for quick and easy access to beach, coastal path, canal for great walks. Amazing facility, spacious and quiet, swimming pool and spa facility are clean and well equipped and maintained, makes a huge difference after a day’s outing. The host family are lovely and warm people. Was impressed by the smart TV in the cottage and everything are well thought of to give the guests a comfortable stay.
Absolutely amazing! The cottages are stunning. Quaint on the outside with a beautiful contemporary and stylish interior. W club facilities are fantastic, we indulged several times; the food and coffee at The Wier bistro is delicious and the staff are lovely. All this surrounded by tranquil countryside, fabulous walks and the sound and smell of the ocean just a 10 minute walk away. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely fantastic holiday cottages all finished to a high standard and well equipped. The on site facilities are great too, particularly for children with feeding the animals, outdoor play area and indoor pool. We enjoyed a couple of breakfasts at the weir too with great service, fantastic view of the lake and great food. Highly recommended and we plan to return!!
Our stay at the cottages was absolutely amazing. Everything was immaculate, the grounds were wonderfully kept and the setting is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The staff we encountered on site were friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. We had a tour of the farm carried out by Dan and his sheep dog Annie, where we were able to feed the ducks, goats and alpacas on the site and we were also lucky enough to see Annie at work which was a really nice touch. The property we stayed in was stunning with a great mix of period and modern and even came equipped with a hot tub that overlooked the gorgeous landscape. I look forward to returning as soon as I can and will throughly recommend the cottages to anyone looking for a luxury getaway.
Second stay at one of several lovely holiday cottages at this fabulous location in Bude. Lots of onsite facilities and close to the beautiful Cornish coastline with lots of beaches, walks and places to visit.
Wonderful holiday. We've come every year for the last five years with our GSD and boy. The houses are comfortable and well designed, and the facilities are great. The boy loves the pool and games barn. Lots of beaches nearby, as are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle etc. The Weir cafe is great too - nice food, lots of dog spotting, and another playground for the boy.
Love this place, retuning for a second time. Fantastic accomodation, friendly staff. Great for anyone that loves the outdoors and going on adventures. The coast is so close too. Spa facilities are a real bonus as well as gym with Technogym equipment xx
