Very traditional pub but fabulously welcoming staff. We popped in for a drink and to see if the England match was on - they put it on for us on the big screen. Was lovely to be able to take the dog and chill. The friendly team gave my dog a lot of treats and welcomed us to their pub. We didn’t eat as we had already eaten but other people were and they seemed very happy! Recommend for families!
Called in for an evening whilst on holiday, pub was busy but we found a table. Whilst ordering drinks and food at the bar, we were kindly given another table that had just been cleared. Staff friendly, good choice of traditional pub food at reasonable prices. Mix grill was great and a good plate full. Would happily return in fact we had visited here a few years previously.
We stumbled upon this gem on chance. We were looking for a pub which took dogs and had classic pub grub. We found exactly that, the food was amazing and priced so well, it was almost too good to be true. We also had two dogs with us and they were welcome straight away with a large handful of treats, water and lots of attention! So glad we went in, staff were really lovely and friendly!
Of all the pubs in town we returned here the most in our recent trips.... Friendly, down to Earth, reasonably priced, and the meals we had were tasty and good value. The Thai food was surprisingly good and a welcome unexpected addition to the menu.
We visited here during a short stopover in Bude. Struggled to find a café so ended up in the pub and we were really glad that we did. The lady behind the bar was really friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed- including a betting slip to write my shopping list on. She was working really hard and never seem to stop. We enjoyed fish and chips and a cheese and mushroom omelette and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his pint of tribute. Will definitely return if in Bude again.
Had a fantastic afternoon in the Globe after a very long walk. A great start to our holiday so thanks very much. The customers and staff were very welcoming in this friendly ‘proper’ pub where the beer is well looked after as are the prices. Don’t get taken in by the tourist bars/cafes, go in the Globe and have some decent beer with a good atmosphere.
Very pleasant staff. In very difficult circumstances made our visit as normal as possible. A nice cold San Miguel and vodka lemonade. Only wanted a light lunch and the prawn sandwich and tuna sandwich were fresh and perfect for what we needed. The landlady even chased us up the road with a bag we had left behind! Would definitely visit again.
Wonderful 1st Jazz Lunch meeting for Bude Jazz Club. The food is Good and Big Portions. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were in the function room, which was great and just the right size for the event.
Great staff who made us feel very welcome from the onset. The room was basic and very dated, really in need of modernisation. Double bed and single bed in the room, my son said his bed was comfortable but I didn’t have a great night sleep. The room was as clean with a good sized bathroom, the shower in the morning took a long time to get hot water and then it was difficult to get the right mix of hot and cold so shower wasn’t very enjoyable. Parking was fine but I think we where lucky as there is only a few places outside the hotel, there is a long stay car park nearby I don’t know how much it costs. Unfortunately without work to modernise the hotel we will not be back.
Went in for food, cheap prices, so did not expect much, had the steak & ale pie from the specials board. Was shocked by how good it was, best steak & ale ever had, big and stuffed with lots of chunks of steak. Partners meal was just as good. If you want to eat in Bude, you have to try out this place.
