I really wanted to leave a fantastic review however it has been tainted by the owners response and lack of communication and lack of integrity. The campsite is on a slope so you need balancing chocks if staying in a van. There are lovely palm trees but it’s very basic. Showers not many think two in total , they are wooden and washing up facilities are limited. Not many water pipes only found two in the whole camping field. There was no milk in the shop and be warned it is not manned and at a bank holiday weekend , the front door just had mobile telephone numbers on a piece of paper advising who to call. This is a very basic campsite which lends it self to the great location of bude. However my experience was awful! Whilst the owners cannot vet people attending, they allowed large groups having bonfires and noisy, playing hall games near the caravans and vans. There is a grass pitch behind reception but no signs or advice to campers to only play football there. So whilst you may wish to enjoy a peaceful evening chatting or unwinding, this campsite does not allow that to happen. Others had complained and the owners did nothing so other campers felt they had to leave for fear of intimidation. I booked four nights and managed only two, my disappointment is the management. If you have an issue They do not answer the mobile numbers, resorted to email and all they offered was 15% off a future holiday! That took them over a month to reply ! Not acceptable for paying customers who had their holiday ruined. They come across as just taking as much money as possible due to the location and not giving a damn. The pitches are not that large either, some had caravans and awnings so I had a car parked across my pitch so it’s cramped. If it rains then if you are at the bottom of the field you will be soggy! Drainage was poor. Therefore I cannot recommend this campsite. It may be fine if you want that hen or stag night vibe but for others that wish for an unwinding relaxing holiday avoid at all costs as even if you complain or try to sort it out , no one answers their phone and no decency to compensate !
Great location, friendly staff and was a good price for a last minute easter break. Was a nice touch with the bbq on the deck and fire pits. Was quite cold for the kids, the door was a bit rough and loud and there was no facilities to plug your own appliances in. The 2 USB ports available were really slow and not great for a family of 4 with devices! But... great holiday, and chance to put the phones down. Had to talk to each other
Lovely landscaped gardens the pods are basic but very clean and spacious. Was perfect for myself, grandma and 2 kids. I had no issues with the shower room yes it is small and is over the basin and toilet but we had warm and hot water throughout our stay. Great location. Improvements could be made to the children's play area which is in desperate need of a makeover as tired and broken. A hot tub or pool area would have made this place superb...something for the future maybe or the ability to interact with some of the farm animals eg feeding tine as has been offered on other farm stays that we have had. All in all a lovely stay at a decent price.
Stayed with 9 people for 4 nights in August, in a nutshell: - Feels run down and in need of a re-furb - Terrible shower pressure, no control of temperature - Cold showers despite asking them to fix - BBQ area really dirty and run down, not pleasant - The farm shop consists of Pot Noodles and Ketchup! - Charged our cards without asking to confirm reservation, and charged the wrong cards! + Gas BBQ and picnic areas good + Very green grass! Overall it looks better in photos than reality, seen better days. Conclusion: Get the basics right - warm showers with better pressure.
Rural camp site on the edge of Bude surrounded by beautiful countryside. A good walk into Bude through a business park. The camp site was well planted with palm trees and well maintained with a slight gradient. Chickens, all be it a cockerel as well, plus, alpacas and a few sheep add to the charm. The amenities are a tad 'Tenko', with no room for family showering, and no space that's dry to dress. Take something easy to slip on after showering! A novel approach to cleaning the toilets and showers with a jet wash was noticed, no use of detergent was used to kill germs, just blasted cold water. The outside dish washing area was new to us and would be fun in the rain. If you're after 5* camping this isn't the site but the price reflects this.
The pods are ok. Comfy bed and warm at night September. The staff are friendly. The landscaping around them is really good. The photos on the web site show newer versions of the pods or perhaps the pod aged a little. The web site also states private wet room with heated shower, flushing WC and hand basin. This was my main disappointment. The private wet room was a tiny shed. The shower was crammed in and you had to crouch oddly over the toilet to get under the shower. On top of that, the shower was either cold or no water at all.
The pod we stayed in was excellent, really loved it. The lady who showed us to our pod was a bit scatty had no idea how long we were staying. Only real downside was the shared bathroom, though the shower was excellent the whole thing really needed a good cleaning.
It's not worth the money. You can air bnb a house for the same price or buy a tent. Pods small and no hot water the whole time. Bean bags for kids were thin and on the cold tiled floor. Even in cold weather they wouldn't turn the advertised underfloor heating on. Rooms were a bit dirty. To be clear "Wet room" is a small wooden box with a toilet and a shower head over the toilet. Not the best place to get clean. One bathroom advertised is in the car park and runs out of hot water too. Owner miserable and doesn't seem fond of children. Best avoided and not family friendly unless you have mute children.
The pod was a great base and a nice place to relax in the evening. The kitchen had all of what we needed other than a cafetier. The wet room shed could do with a hook to hang a towel on to keep it dry but it was fine. The gas BBQ didn't have a separate burner so cooking with pans took a long time. We got a 3 nights for 2 deal so the price was reasonable, not sure I would've paid the luxury price tag. Nice experience, if you like camping but want a little convenience this is a good option! Really pleasant surroundings, close to town and supermarkets. Comfy bed and bean bags to chill and stargaze at night.
-2 if it was possible. There was nothing at all I can say I liked! 1. The tent was filthy, mattress covered in pet hair. 2. Staff were quite dismissive and unhelpful. 3. Wifi non existent 4. Three toilets and two showers between seven family tents. Not to mention, disgustingly dirty. 5. Barbacue was tiny and wasn't there on arrival. 6. Worst camping experience ever!
