Visited Bude for a week and stopped at The Brendon Arms 3 times for drinks after a walk. Each time the staff were friendly and knowledgable on the drinks and engaged in conversation. Lovely outside area plenty of space to sit. Dogs welcome in the bar and garden although not in restaurant. Would suggest this to anyone wanting a good place for a drink after a walk or beach Visit.

Lovely old place. Full of character. Great bar with good drinks selection, sports on TV and a pool table. Separate restaurant area with good menu and specials board. Reasonable pricing too as it's also a hotel which sometimes pushes prices up. Dedicated free parking ticks yet another box. All in all, a great place to stop off or to stay the night.

Although the staff and starter were lovely, we can’t say the same for the main meal. The mash was lumpy and watery and their famous Steak and Ale pie contained a lot of very fatty meat. Unfortunately the meal did not sit well in our tummy’s and soon after made my husband quite ill. Such a shame as the pub was clean, staff smiling and looked happy to work there but I wouldn’t recommend. Personally, I much prefer paying a little more for food that is locally sourced and that you have to wait that little longer to be cooked properly. This just seems like bulk cooking from a microwave oven.

Good food nice breakfast. Quiet venue. My stay was ruined by a very very bright light right outside my window and paper thin curtains it was like midday at 1.30 a.m. Also had walked 18 miles and would have been nice to have been checked without having to wait for someone. Although I was pretty tired.

Excellent meal of oven cooked hake and vegetables. Very tender and melt in the mouth. The battered fish and chips were also very good. Also excellent pint of Cornish Jack ale.
