this is the worst school i’ve EVER attended in my life. i was punished for showing individuality and i was ridiculed and shamed by so many students and teachers and no one did a thing to stop it. i was told i would never be able to go to a good sixthform/college and i was constantly punished for no good reason other than me challenging their unreasonable rules. no talking allowed in the corridors, no walking in groups unless it’s a set of 3? is this a school or a prison? if i could give a 0, i 100% would. don’t go to this school PLEASE.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. It drove me to have a breakdown and the school was not understanding and frequently punishes students for reasons that make no sense I joined the school excited to learn and be pushed and instead, alongside other students, was driven to become an absolute wreck. They are also incredibly ableist and we often found that complaints made were not addressed. On top of this they very frequently victim blamed when children were being bullied. The culture among students is also awful. I really would not recommend this school to anyone.
I went to this school in year 7, many children misbehaved, but were generally nice to me, but that might just be my experience. Fights weren't a rare occurrence and staff did not like to be proved wrong as a result of their arrogance. When Sir Naim Dangoor was alive, trips were paid for and were a good and effective way of rewarding good students, for example a visit to Thorpe Park for a day or Pizza Hut for lunch. There were some great teachers, specifically in the English and Maths department, but I'm not sure how the school is now.
Mean teachers and disrespectful kids. I didn't like the way I was treated by kids and teachers. Rude kids that don't make an effort to get to know you. They believe rumours spread about a kid that is not true. -i'm a student that experienced extreme bullying for years teachers done nothing about it, an reoccurring nightmare, thank god I left wa. -don't take your kids there, trust me. Instead of making kids confident, they take all the confidence away from kids making feel like everything's their fault. -i saw the review of Sammy tm saying all the negative reviews of the school are jealous people, realistically this is not true it's an opinion not a fact. I've personally experienced an negative experience to the degree I hated waking up to go to school, and it turned into being late constantly, And way too much homework where you couldn't enjoy life. My experience on what I went through the teachers treated me like I was making stuff up about being bullied and said that I was imagining things and said to my parents that they think I'm autistic.
Ofsted inspectors visiting Westminster Academy, in Harrow Road, described the secondary school as 'inadequate'. The report stated: "Significant improvement is required in relation to standards and achievement in English, mathematics and science. "Standards of attainment are very low for all groups of pupils. "Teachers fail to give students the feedback and guidance they need." Year 10 students are not able to add 2/5 and 3/10, they never heard of the common denominator.
It's alright if your child works well in that kind of environment, but if they get easily anxious or are neurodivergent I would definitely recommend homeschooling instead
This place is absolutely nasty it’s a failure of a school with most of the teachers being not understanding and horrible they preach about caring for mental health of the students but my daughter was mentally truamatised by the racism she experienced but the people in the school failed her honestly parents do not send ur kids here this school is a walking mental health red flag
My son gets bullied at the school and teachers do not do anything. When he tries to defend himself, they punish him with a Saturday detention. Okay, so let him just get beaten up then while we wait for you to think of punishing the other student. Just bare in mind, if my son does get beaten up again, I will beat the attacker myself and sue the principal. Dumb teachers need to fix up ASAP.
I don't even know what you are all waffling about cuz the school isn't even bad. Compared to other schools it's not strict so that's a W for me so personally, I don't mind it, uts a good school
I like this school my granddaughter has anxiety miss laber has gone to every length to support her throughout also other members of staff have been so kind and supportive . thankyou .
