· Lovely location, room was clean and well decorated to match the boat theme. The pool was lovely and the entertainment room was nice !nnDisliked · I would probably say if anything, the jacket potato was underdone, but that's being fussy. Additionally, the pool table wasn't always functioning properly, requiring staff to frequently intervene to release balls. Been like that for a while. Would come again !
The staff at the Waveney Inn and Hotel were lovely - very polite and totally prepared to help their customers.nThe room was also good. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable. We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room. It was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, water and hot chocolate. There was a fan, an ironing board, iron and hairdryer too.nThere's a small shop stocking some food and drink supplies and also a swimming pool on the site.nWe enjoyed walking by the river and looking at the many boats for sale.nYou do need a vehicle, though, as getting to other local amenities and sites isn't so easy without your own transport.
Passing by on the Broads so moored up for lunch today, 6 adults. Lovely surroundings, very polite staff, excellent service and food was served very efficiently, hot and tasty. Thank you for making our visit enjoyable. Also stopped at your sister pub The Bell Inn at St Olaves for a drink this evening- lovely there too!
Location: Found the location of the Inn perfect, quiet, picturesque and back to nature.nThe room: port cabin was amazing and well worth the money. So very clean, well laid out, a bed that's could sleep 3 easily, plentiful teas, coffees and hot chocolate. Great ensuite, would almost say a 5*room. Only downside I found to the room was that the dividing wall between mine and the next room was thin... To the point where at 12.30am I could hear their television as if it were in the room with me... Not to mention that being exchanged with the gentleman's snoring after the t.v was turned off untill 2am when it finally stopped.. maybe a pillow was used by his wife to stifle the noise??nEvening meal: service non existent... Myself and another table had to go to the bar to order as no staff came!... I ordered beer battered fish ,chunky chips and mushy peas.... Batter was thin, lacked any flavour or seasoning and fish inside was equally as flavourless, the chunky chips were... Chunky and quite nice once seasoning was added, mushy peas... Or more exact pea with the small portion were Luke warm and very bland. At £17 I was hoping and expecting more.. most was left than eaten as it was good enough just to take the hunger pangs away.nThis coupled with constantly barking dogs in the restaurant, it was not the best experience.nn*Note for Inn owners, maybe in the evenings, dogs should be banned from the restaurant area. *nnService terrible with miserable staff... The 16 year old lad was pleasant enough though, only nice staff member I came across was a young uni lad studying Physics at Nottingham.. kudos to him, he was polite, witty, very knowledgeable about his ciders and seems to be the most professional amongst the staff maybe hiring more nature staff would be adventurous rather than young adults who really knew little about the workings of the service industry... Especially Frayer at Breakfast, who could have turned the sun to ice with her lack of smiling personality or customer service. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for youngsters working, but at least they could pretend that they wanted to be there, I've done front facing with public for many years... Pretending is easy to get right when working with PublicnBreakfast:... More if the same quality of cooking... Ordered a small English and capachinno. Sausage was anemic, egg had more 'snot like' uncooked whites, hash brown oozed oil, they got the beans, flat mushroom and beans correct, oh and it's hard to mess up a slice of toast.... Again... Half the food left!nSummary.nYes, I'd go back if only to stay at the location and take advantage of the rooms, but I'd definitely not eat there unless it was improved greatly, especially for the prices charged.nnRooms 9/10nCleanliness 10/10nComfort 9/10nStaffing 4/10nFood 4/10nService 4/10nnCompany needs to improve staffing service.
Very remote and peaceful. Unfortunately pub is shut until mid december and were only told they day before we went. Staff are lovely. Needs more lights to guide the path at night as many of the lights were not turned on.
