The worst experience I’ve ever had in a cinema!nI’m never one to complain but this was the scenario I was met with today while visiting vue Swansean. I booked seats online a few days ago for a film I thought would be sold out for a family of 3, 2 adults and a 3 year old.nOnce we arrived into the screen to find our seats. We noticed that one of our seats had a hole in it and an out of order sleeve over the seat. I then went to the front desk to raise this issue. I was simply asking if I could sit elsewhere as the seat I had paid for was out of order! staff and manager were very unhelpful and told me there’s nothing that they could do except they expected me to pay extra for different seats that weren’t booked up in the cinema when I had already paid for our 3 seats online !!nOr the other option they met me with was for 2 of the family to sit next to the broken seat and for 1 member of the family to sit elsewhere in the cinema alone!nI think this is utterly unacceptable, I paid for 3 seats together as a family for Father’s Day with our 3 year old daughter and we were left with either paying extra for different seats or for one of us to sit alone !! I believe it is completely unacceptable! I was given a number to ring to sort this out for a refund but the phone number is a robot and has no human on the other end so impossible to get ahold of anyone. Will not visit this cinema again, such a shame as it is my local one and have been visiting since childhood.
I am traveling through the UK and decided on a down day to go to the cinema. This is easily the most uncomfortable and poorly maintained theater I have ever been too. Many seats were torn from wear, many seats in the theater were “out of order.” Our seats were very hard and didn’t lean back. The next day I still had lower back pain from the seats. Multiple times during our screening the picture froze or jumped. Terrible experience all around. Tickets are relatively cheap but I don’t think it’s worth it.
Bought my ticket 1 hour before my film, left the cinema & came back. Came back into the cinema to buy a tango ice blast, there was 2 different people on their registers. Instead of me joining the big que of people I went in the other which only had 1 person waiting, as soon as I joined the que a man & a lady left the long que & stood directly infront of me. She said “we’ve been waiting 20 minutes” which wasn’t my fault it was very obvious there was 2 open ques available. I told her that’s none of my business & shouldn’t give her a reason to butt in the que, she got loud with me which resulted in me telling her that there was clearly 2 different que & I wasn’t going to argue so I let her have the space in the que. The lady behind the cash register then started to shout at me with a good 15 people in the area saying that it was my fault & she had every reason to push in. Absolutely not, she was waiting long before I turned up again & it was a complete different que. The man with the beard was the only decent person in the place. Poor staff & poor judgment of characters. The only time I’ve written a review too. Wouldn’t go again & It’s been my local cinema for the last 22 years.
Purchased tickets onlinenEasy to use websitenNo queues on arrivalnGood choice of filmsnBooked the VIP seats, extra seat room and plenty of spacenWas told on arrival that our screen was very cold, offered to go into a different screening of the same film which we accepted.
This cinema was really poor on my last two visits. Went to see Killers of the Flower Moon and couldn't hear anything because the Taylor Swift film was booming through the walls from next door. About a two months ago I went to see Wonka and it was freezing, kept my coat and scarf on, cold legs. Lots of the seats were ripped and out of use too. Feels like Vue have abandoned it as a cinema, and not investing in repairing the problems. I'll go to Odeon instead for a while.
