Loved the Magic Lantern. Great atmosphere and the picnic option is inspired. Loads of room to eat and stretch your legs, refreshing for a cinema - theatre. Travelled there by train from Criccieth which added to the whole experience, loved it definitely a five star venue.
Excellent cinema even though it is strange to sit at a table and be served by waiter. Very old cinema but strangely engaging.
Loved this place exactly what I wanted, I actually met one of the old employees who now works in millie and kids restaurant and he spoke so highly of this privately owned cinemannPlace as great, the at seat service was brilliant, kids loved the popcorn and sweets combo and dad was happy with the San Miguel'snnGet there before the showing to make the most of this, when the movie starts no further access to the bar is granted. We sat on the balcony, after 20 years of going to Tywyn this is the first time I went to the cinema, we will be back, keep up the good work, loved it felt old school
Fantastic cinema, showing films since 1900!nnIt’s a brilliant venue, having so much character. They have preserved all the best bits making it a real event to go to compared to a modern cinema.nnThe seats are comfortable, and the new table service for cocktails and food is a brilliant addition, and ultimately where they make their money - as the actual cinema tickets are remarkably cheap.nnThey host a ‘sundowners’ cocktail area on the lovely patio to the rear in the afternoon and this is a lovely place to be. The cocktails are great too.nnThe cinema sound system has been upgraded and sounds fantastic. It really dials up the immersion.nnDefinitely a must visit if you are in the area, and a recommendation to travel to if you are not!
Absolutely fantastic. First came here in the mid 80s and it's still great fun. Superb waiter service to your table when you're seated so no hustling to get popcorn and drinks. Lots of snack choices and more than reasonable prices. Dont let the amazing age of this wonderful place put you off or make you think it's below par. Top quality 4k picture and a sound system to rival any new cinema. Definitely a magical place. Will be back for sure.
