We are a GP surgery in south London near Elephant and Castle. We have a high quality team of doctors, nurses and other support staff. Our list is open for new patients.

Story

Villa Street is a friendly medical practice providing high quality medical care for all of our patients. We work as a team to ensure our receptionists are welcoming and efficient so that our GP's and nurses can take the time to listen and plan the right health care with our patients.

You can book an appointment in advance either via our website www.villastreetmedicalcentre.nhs.uk or by phoning us on 020 7703 7393. If you feel that you need to see us in a hurry then it is best to phone before 10am so we can arrange for a GP to call you back within the hour. The GP will ask you some basic questions about your issue in order to ascertain what the next steps in care should be. This may save you from having to make a trip to the surgery.

As well as the usual services that you would expect from a GP surgery we specialise in: diabetes, mental health care, sexual health, skin problems, minor surgery and drug and alcohol problems.

We have a baby clinic on Thursday mornings and offer both GP and nurse appointments on Tuesday evenings.

We are welcoming new patients to our list at the moment.

Had my first GP appointment today and I was very impressed. The receoption staff were kind and efficient, the waiting area was clean and Dr White was exceptional. She was kind, listened to my issue and genuinely seemed to care. She even followed up with a phone call a little later with another suggestion for treatment. I was very impressed with the whole team

The reception is absolutely useless and they can't book or move an appointment for 2 weeks time only 3 weeks?? when I'm taking medicine that needs to be subscribed and taken on the dot and not weeks/days later. How was my doctor able to book an appointment in 2 weeks then if they aren't able to? Either get a better system or hire better staff as something is clearly wrong here.

I am new registered on this practice, I am leaving one star as did visit few times with a different doctor which I forgot her name now and she was great, otherwise I would leave none star. When I registered I informed that my Gp records was all over the place, so Kelly at reception said that she would chase it and put all together as for some reason they only had part of it, few days later I received a email from Kelly saying that she managed to get all my records and that Villa street surgery does now have all the records together. I do suffer from severe depression and on 3rd of June I attended Villa as I have been feeling terrible depressed , I was seen by Doctor Nancy Kuchemann. I could even barely speak as i couldn't stop crying, Doctor Kuchemann went straight saying that she couldn't see any records of my depression which made me believe that she presumed I was lying, so I did said that I have and if she wanted I have records at home that I could show to her in fact also proof that I even tried to take my own life twice. Doctor Kuchmann then went asking me what did I want her to do then! I responded  that I didn't know and that no offence but that if I knew there wouldn't have attended the surgery  I also said that in the past I had my previous doctor booked me therapy sessions but I wasn't able to attend do to fatigue and panic attacks, but that my previous Doctor was doing it with myself as one to one , she replied that no one there at Villa street could do that with me. Fine, but what shocked me the most was the fact that she turned to me at the end and said that I only had two choices Be strong or give up. Even though I know she is right but that definitely wasn't the what I was expecting to hear from her, so as i got up to leave the room i decided to ask for her name to leave this review , as believe me I left the clinic feeling way much worst that I was feeling when I did enter, so obviously she knew why I was asking for her name and I believe that for this only reason then she did sent me a message with a link about wellbeing. Funny thing is that I do always receive a message with a link to leave a review but obviously this time I didn't even received this message as she could see that I would leave a negative one. It's really hard for a person in a position that I am to look for help/ speak up as most of people seems you as crazy , dangerous , not stable and when you finally decide to look for help hear this from a Doctor ,it's already hard to believe that there's a cure for it , specially when you decide to look for some kind of help and that is the support you get.

I am so glad that I have registered with this GP service as the Doctors are so caring and professional.  The reception are also great.  My experience has been 100% positive.

Very consistent in being late. Seems their doctors could benefit from time management training. Expect patients to be on time but this does not apply to GPs actually seeing you on time. Your, the patient's, time clearly is seen as less valuable by this surgery

Talked to one of the doctors yesterday and today I got my prescription. The doctor was very professional and helpful to sort out what the best initial management I can have for my concern. The staff of the centre are also nice and quick to respond, really fast turnaround time indeed.

I've been Attending  this wonderful GP surgery way from East street. I've been a patient since 2001,Dr Hodges, Dr Cooper And all the other new doctors are amazing. and they've all been brilliant.

I've been going to this excellent GP surgery since about 2018.  The reception staff are friendly and helpful, and the doctors are all wonderful.  I've had very kindly treatment for my long covid for  a start they've believed it, which isn't always the case! and many other issues over the years.  I've seen Dr Blomfield she's now moved on, Dr Hodges, Dr Cooper and Dr Weale and they've all been brilliant.  They've taken a lot of time and care with me, with such a good 'bedside manner', which is incredible given the stress that GPs are under, doing a very difficult job with many constraints and of course a bloody pandemic which endangered their health on the frontline. I feel so lucky to have them nearby.

I have recently moved and changed my GP to Villa Street Medical centre.  I have to say, I am very impressed.  The doctors and Nurses are all amazing.  Special thanks to Doctors and team for the care you showed while i was in pain and struggling. You guys showed that you enjoy what you do and care about your patients.

I just want to say thank you to The doctor white. She has been so caring. She has been looking after me and my wife. She always call when I left a message in the reception. I will recommend anyone that join this GP to ask for her. Once again thank you.
