We had a fantastic meal at upstairs at trinity. We ordered broccoli, burrata, squash, red mullet and the chateaubriand which was a special Everything was delicious, however the standout was the chateaubriand which was amazing. The service was excellent and very attentive and the meal was very reasonably priced for 4 people coming in at £190 including service and two bottles of wine!
Went for a business lunch, outstanding food and service! The place is small, but cozy and really well decorated. High tables and tapas kind of dishes, we shared a few starters and everything was well presented and delicious. The focaccia is super fluffy and tasty, and the gin cured salmon is incredible. We also tried 3 of their desserts, all to die for. Highly recommend!
4.5 - More of a casual atmosphere than downstairs. Always enjoy sharing menus and with a group of 5 it was perfect to try a fair amount of the menu. I think I’d feel hard for choice if I only came as a 2! Food was great, not as inventive compared to the downstairs, but it’s was made well so can’t fault that. In particular enjoyed deep fried oysters. I would definitely come back! Have to say the service was great, easy to talk to, gave good advice on the menu. Slight error on a main we ordered but how they handled it was definitely brilliant definitely a plus! Only negative was the starters were I think on the smaller side, but the mains were definitely larger than expected! So balanced out in the end I guess! Will come back again!
Food was pretty good and really reasonably priced, but service was awful. Waiters were nice if a little standoffish, not clued up at all on the menu or wine list no sommelier to be seen, also clearing plates while we were still eating, asked if we wanted deserts while we were still on the main course and then brought the bill and stood waiting for us to pay. Not a terrible experience but not a particularly good one either, won't be rrushing back.
This has to be one of my favourite restaurants! Fantastic team and atmosphere, great service and off-the-scale food. Visited recently with friends and had a stunning meal albeit I think we possibly overstayed our welcome and were the last to leave. Will be back again soon!
Had suuuuch a lovely birthday meal here! Food was delicious, pretty decor, but most of all the service and all the staff were so lovely and helpful and friendly, it really made our evening special. When we ordered food we weren't sure if we were ordering the right amount, and they advised us it might be a little too much a refreshing change from restaurants just trying to encourage us to spend money, and they were NOT wrong! We were absolutely stuffed, and everything we ate was fantastic. Would particularly recommend the gazpacho, the halibut ceviche, and the corn on the cob with seaweed butter. The staff were always available and very happy to tell us more about the menu and answer any questions, but they were never overly invasive and still left us to enjoy our meal. Honestly the best and nicest service I can remember in a restaurant. Will definitely be going back, I look forward to trying more of the menu!
Terrific dining room. The service was careless. The lamb was overcooked, the sin of sins. Dinner for two including a bottle of red was £138: that bought some burrata, aubergines, a croquette and arancini each and a lamb leg steak to share. Am hoping our experience was unusual - judging by others’ reviews, it seems to have been.
Really good food at a pocket friendly cost. There were a few options to choose from on this menu but you’re actually spoilt for choice as there is something for everyone see photos, plus more. The menu changes daily, with some consistent classics that are worth coming back for. The food is of a high standard, with care taken to prepare every plate set before you. I opted for a fancy toast and cheese and two desserts. Best life decision and absolutely worth the carbs!
We had the quail, scallop carpaccio, broccoli, squid, olives, burrata for two people. Everything was good and the burrata, quail, broccoli were excellent. A long wine list as well. Totally enjoyed the Friday dinner.
Shared plates, with large meat/fish options available too, better to go with larger groups to experience more dishes. Even if you're not the biggest fan of what it says it is on the menu, the chef's to a good job of making it taste amazing. Purple stem broccoli is incredible. Have been twice, and both times have been an amazing evening celebrating some event - For a birthday, they even signed a birthday card and put it on the table waiting for us. When busy, service can be a little slow, but always with a smile and if you're not in a rush it shouldn't be a problem! ~£40-50pp if you want to be full and also have a glass of wine.
