Story

The Magic Garden Pub in Battersea is a modern day Narnia. The beer garden is one of the best in London - an enchanting and lively space that will keep you coming back for more. Forget the trendy gastropubs of London, this is a traditional London pub with a strong art and music influence.

The Magic Garden Pub plays host to fantastic live music throughout the week, ranging from beautiful acoustica on Wednesdays, blues and swing trios on Thursdays, to full tilt festival bands smashing the dancefloor with with reggae, ska, funk, gypsy, swing and more, topped off with proper festie DJs til late at the weekends.

Come here for a Sunday roast, sample the restaurant menu, or enjoy a few pub snacks - it's so easy to book by using our online bookings system. We are also popular venue for VERY happy birthday gatherings.... The only pub that provides hot water bottles for those who wish to sit out in the garden!

Love this hidden gem of Battersea. Specially on Thursdays night's, when they have the blues jamming. Service is great, and the beer garden is amazing and fun. Great decor, nice ambience.Food: 5/5
Didn't have food, so I can't rate it. But what I did have was a pot of tea, big pot of tea and lovely it was. I was told that this place had the best bar garden, and they are right, a lovely magical garden lovely decorated and lots of character. I will definitely be coming here again. I will try the food next time. So here is an update, I just love this place it's my 4th time coming to this pub and the main man behind the bar is a gentleman. I don't drink alcohol, but I love the pots of tea and pots of coffee and a glass of coke filled with ice and lemon, This is my little paradise in a wonderful beer garden. You have to visit this place if you're looking for something different in a beer garden
Lovely pub, lovely atmosphere. Beautiful beer garden with loads of different areas to sit. Different themes incorporated into the garden with sofas, soft, hard, plastic furnishings. Average price is £7.00 a pint at the time of my visit. But we'll worth a visit if you are in the area. Clean bar, clean toilets. Nice, friendly staff. A good night out! Live music nights too.
I enjoyed the visit so much! The interiors and vibes are so nice, have never seen anything similar in London yet. The garden and general atmosphere are fantastic. Stuff members were really kind. Although, my favourite part are the 3 kittens and their mom.
Favorite place for a drink in Battersea. If you like a gritty pub with a cool small stage for live music, this is your spot. Will happily return.Food: 5/5
Came here on a Saturday around 17:30 for a friend’s birthday drinks… was really looking forward to having some food here after ready all those reviews about how good their food was, but to our disappointment we were told on arrival that there was no chef in the kitchen that day, and they did not serve any food whatsoever, not even chips. Out of 3 ales on draft, 2 were not available. The staff were friendly and apologetic. They have a gorgeous beer garden at the back which was partially covered; however, it was hard to breath there as it was full of smokers. Left that place stinking of smoke & hungry. They also charge £7 to get in after 19:00 no charge before that.
Total GEM!! I must have passed this place a thousand times and only went in for the first time this week... Aaaaaah, so glad this kind of understated, unpretentious yet sparkly place still exists in London, never mind Battersea/Clapham. The website says it's 'a festival in a pub', I'd agree! Didn't have food here, so can't comment. After close inspection of my bank statement, I must say though that £7.20 for a pint is wayyyy too much especially when there's no band playing that day..!
If yout want 2 hours of entertainment!!!! Came for event that was advertised as 07:30 - 02:00 Do not come before 21:00!! Paid an entrance fee but there was no music from live band as advertised, told by bar staff they don't start before 21:00 Why am I paying to come before when there is no advertisement?? If I booked a ticket online it would have been more expensive It would be a really good night but false advertising is really making me question why I came. Pay to drink basically as the event is not correctly advertised. Very poor!! When I asked the bar staff, they had no idea and said they would pass on the message. Really ot acceptable Could potentially be a great venue but for this reason... never book or believe the promo The event is advertised as 19:30 - 02:00 They played from 22:00 - 00:00 The band was amazing but massive false advertising If you want good entertainment come late and pay for 2 hours Disgustingly false advertisement Could be a great seller but so many lies when posting... frustration level 1000% Don't false advertise a good set!!!
I’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years, since it opened. An incredible place… beautiful garden area, amazing live music, and the staff are simply fantastic. An amazing world of a pub.Service: 5/5
