Story

Trinity is a privately-owned neighbourhood restaurant situated in the heart of Clapham Old Town. When we started out, way back in 2006, our self-set mission was to serve great food. It had to be seasonal, inspirational and, above all, delicious.

Ten years later and our priorities have not changed one single bit. While we are the proud holders of one Michelin Star and numerous accolades – our motivation is as it has always been, to continuously provide our guests with a memorable gastronomic experience.

Upstairs, our aptly named restaurant space situated above Trinity – offers our guests a casual dining space to complement Trinity that is well suited for private functions and larger groups. As well as being available for reservations and exclusive hires, Upstairs at Trinity proudly plays host to a variety of exciting events and special evenings for our guests to enjoy

We very much look forward to sharing our food and hospitality with you.

We travelled to London for my wife's birthday and thought we could try Trinity for a special birthday lunch. Everything from start to finish was amazing. Staff are highly attentive yet not overbearing, advising on everything from food to drinks. The food as expected is the highlight. Although everything is phenomenal, the salmon and venison were the highlights for us both. There was also a nice special touch from the staff, having given my wife a birthday card signed by the staff. A truly amazing experience.
This was the best lunch that I have had in London this year! Impeccable service, immaculate restaurant, delicious innovative food. Amazing hot sourdough rolls, brilliant canapes, and every dish was magic. Absolute deserving of a Michelin Star! I would highly recommend and will come again!Food: 5/5
Thoroughly enjoyed a recent lunch with colleagues, Trinity has been on my bucket list for a while - I was meant to join colleagues here last Christmas but a train cancellation put pay to that! I would highly recommend the Old Fashioned. Probably in the top five of the best I’ve had The Steak Tartare is the most delicious I’ve had north of Paris and the Venison and Mallard were excellent. Wonderfully informal, polite and excellent service. Definitely be back!
Foods amazing. Service is attentive without being overbearing. The salmon is a must, rich but with enough acidity, I don't even like dill but it was one of the best dishes I've had. For the amount of work that goes into the food, it's reasonably pricedFood: 5/5
The food was average. It was not worth the money to be honest. The service was terrible! I will never go back to this place again and I have been to many michelin restaurants. The moment you enter the hosts are not welcoming. The sommelier is not experienced and asks you for your order prior to handing you the drinks menu. He gave us big cider glasses for red wine instead of the appropriate wine glass. The waitor was average and not very helpful with the menu explanations. The ambience is casual which can be nice at times but the furniture is a bit dated. The food did not leave us wanting more. The beef tartar which was a popular dish, tasted more like fish than it did meat. The fish was average and so was the lamb. Overall, never going back to this place. Not worth the money at all. The only thing nice was the plating but that could use improvement.
We visited this restaurant last night with an 8:30 pm booking. The service and food were definitely of Michelin quality. However, one thing that disappointed us was the seating arrangement. We were placed right next to the door, and every time someone entered the restaurant, they brushed against my back. This was quite surprising, especially considering that we ordered two cocktails to start, two set menus, and a bottle of wine, which likely put our spending in the medium to high range. Because of this seating issue, it impacted our experience and this table simply shouldn’t exist in the first place.
An ingénu, a tyro, in terms of this fine establishment, though its reputation had travelled, percolated, down to where we live. Others have sallied forth and been rewarded handsomely. I/we were very impressed. Casual in some ways, formal in others, excellent attentive but not cloying service. A lovely lunch menu, and a great choice of wines by glass, Coravin, carafe or bottle. We went at lunch, had a nice cocktail, then 500 mL carafe of Chateau Kirwan 2016 Margaux. The food was really good. Everything well thought through, presented and obviously, cooked. No duds, and some excellent dishes on display. I'm impressed - lunch is better value as always, and its not 'cheap' but the value for money is solid. I'll hope to return. Recommended strongly.
One of the better one star restaurants in London. I wish they still had their 5 course option though, as now they seem to only do a 4 course. The food was all delicious and well balanced. The only dish I can’t entirely recommend is the prawns in the first course, as it seemed some of the prawns were more pungent than others. Not sure if the batch was bad. A lot stronger than other raw prawns I’ve had, and they varied just on the plate. A beautiful atmosphere inside, with excellent service. You can BYO too which was nice.
Service: the servers were extremely friendly and polite, however there is a clear distinction between this restaurant and its ability to gain another Michelin star. The servers could’ve done a better job at describing the dishes, the origins of the produce, and a wine list was left sitting on the table all night. The pacing was also a bit slow -2.5 hrs for 4 dishes is pushing it. Food: while perfectly acceptable, the food left me wanting more. No dish was perfect, always lacking in something salt, acid, balance. The prawns were a bit bland, the sweetbreads overly claggy, and the caramel tart was salty the miso icecream was extra salty. I wasn’t left with a “wow” feeling which is disappointing considering how lovely the staff and ambience were. Ambience: Beautiful, well presented and the staff are friendly and kind.
Legitimately one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London. Granted I’ve been here for 2.5yrs but this is genuinely top 3 if not the best. Every waiter signed a card for my partner’s bday before we got there. Each dish was exceptional. Amazing wine list. Outstanding service - got the balance just right between attentive, informative but not over bearing. Vibe is great. Food once again incredible! Not cheap but so so worth it. Coming back asap Dietary restrictions: Partner is soy and rice intolerant- you wouldn’t have even known - they handled it so well
