Everything is great except my phone in my room didn't work when I arrived and I had to call room service on my cell phone which means I had to call the hotel and get the customer service extension and ask to be connected to in room dining. The first time I got voice mail. I called back 30 minutes later and got hung up on. And called back and got another voicemail. Finally another 20 minutes later in room dining called my cell phone. I started calling around 8 but my food didn't arrive until 10. Plus there was a fireworks show so I couldn't even get to the front door of the hotel because people were blocking the entrance. The menu even on the rooftop is pretty limited. The view and ambiance is great and the rooms are nice but for the price of a meal, the menu should be expanded. Land and Lakes breakfast is pretty limited as well. But the location is great. But they even charge for a bottle of water. Next time I think I'll go back to the Double Tree
Our stay in Chicago was truly memorable, and much of that can be attributed to the exceptional service and stunning views provided by the hotel. The view from our hotel window, showcasing the iconic skyline, was nothing short of breathtaking, especially every morning. We were fortunate to receive outstanding assistance from Neil and Edward, who went above and beyond to enhance our experience. They provided us with a curated list of the most popular restaurants and sightseeing activities, ensuring we didn’t miss out on the best the city had to offer. Notably, they gave us detailed information about Thanksgiving events, including the renowned parade and local dining options. When my friend and I initially thought we might be spending Thanksgiving alone in the hotel, Edward and Neil took the extra step of compiling a list of restaurants open for the holiday, ensuring we had a memorable meal. Both Neil and Edward were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making our stay not only more convenient but also more enjoyable. Their thoughtful assistance played a key role in making our trip both easy to coordinate and truly unforgettable. Nearby activities: Restaurants, famous pizza places, famous coffee shops, near the main view of Chicago with the lake and city view. We can see it from our hotel room and famous rooftop everyone comes to for an attraction activity. They even had the rooftop decorated in Christmas decorations during thanksgiving week. Walkability: Very close by to all the famous attractions in Chicago. Did not have to uber at all in Chicago and got to experience the sight see of Chicagos amazing views.
I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I must take a moment to highlight the exceptional service provided by Neil at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Neil greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our comfort truly made a difference in our stay. Not only was Neil incredibly helpful in checking us in efficiently, but he also took the time to recommend several must-see places around the city. His local knowledge was spot on, and thanks to his suggestions, we were able to explore some hidden gems that we might have missed otherwise. Whether it was the best local restaurants, scenic viewpoints, or cultural spots, Neil’s recommendations made our trip even more memorable. As for the hotel itself, it was absolutely stunning. The property is beautifully maintained, with modern, comfortable amenities. Our room was pristine and had breathtaking views that made waking up each morning a real treat. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was impeccable, and every corner was thoughtfully designed for both comfort and style. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for not just a place to stay, but a welcoming experience from start to finish. If you're lucky enough to meet Neil, you're in for a treat his kindness and expertise will truly enhance your stay. Thank you again, Neil, for making our visit so special! Also, We want to extend our sincere thanks to Edward for his exceptional help during our stay as well. His assistance in providing a list of open restaurants on Thanksgiving was invaluable, and his recommendations for local spots to explore were spot on. Beyond his helpfulness, we truly appreciated the great conversation we had about Chicago his insights into the city made our visit even more memorable. Edward’s friendly and attentive service truly enhanced our experience, and we are grateful for his kindness.
This hotel truly is a gem. I stayed here during marathon weekend and the hotel never seemed packed. Room service was exquisite and always right on time. The room was great with a view facing the river. The lobby bar and rooftop bar were cool, but the rooftop bar at Trump Tower across the river had equally satisfying views with way more room. 10/10 hotel and if I am back for the marathon, then I will absolutely stay here again.
We came to LondonHouse for our anniversary and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. We upgrade the room to a premium room and it was worth every penny. The bed was so comfortable I took 2 naps in a day on it. Service was excellent and the location was so convenient. Close to the river tours and the shopping areas as well as great food options. 100% recommend.
We were really excited to stay here, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Before our arrival, we had tried to amend our booking for an extra night, but the hotel was fully booked, and the staff were less than helpful during that process. Upon check-in, we were offered an upgrade, but only at an additional cost per night, despite the already high price of our four-night stay. We had also emailed in advance re an upgrade as it was our anniversary and a special birthday - this was ignored. The room itself was a real letdown. It was very very small could hardly get the ironing board up, one of us would get dressed in the bathroom etc... incredibly dark, and the temperature was either too hot or freezing, with no comfortable middle ground. The bathroom light was automatic, which seemed convenient at first but turned out to be quite frustrating, especially in the middle of the night, as it wouldn’t turn off quickly. For such an excellent location, we were extremely disappointed with the view, which looked directly onto a wall of hotel windows—not what we had expected based on what we'd seen online, or indeed - had paid. The Roof Terrace is beautiful, but as a guest of the hotel, there’s no real benefit in staying here for exclusive access. You can only get a table if you’re eating, which felt restrictive, and we had hoped for more from that experience. It would also have been better service if the hotel assisted you with bookings in advance instead of pointing you online. After spending five packed days in the stunning city of Chicago, I can confidently say that there are better hotels for a lower price. You pay a premium in this area for the view - of which there was none. We had a much more enjoyable stay at the hotel across the water for that 1 night, and I would recommend staying there instead. Note: no one has contacted me despite the public response
London House is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I have experienced. This was my first visit to Chicago, and as a frequent traveler, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure a seamless stay. Alexis at the front desk delivered outstanding customer service, offering detailed information about the hotel. My room featured an incredible view, and the housekeeping team consistently maintained impeccable cleanliness. Additionally, the food at the hotel’s indoor restaurant was excellent. London House will undoubtedly be my go-to choice for accommodations whenever I visit Chicago.
We stayed at the LondonHouse Chicago for just one night and were immediately impressed after meeting Marcus A. at the front desk. I was feeling extremely exhausted as I had an event that evening. Marcus A. went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed. After speaking with him and seeing our lovely suite, we decided to extend our stay for another night. The customer service, the rooms, and especially the rooftop bar were all amazing. They really know how to take care of their Hilton guests, and this will definitely be my hotel of choice when I return to Chicago. Once again, a big thank you to Marcus A. for his care and patience in making sure we were comfortable. We will definitely be back.
I have no idea how this hotel has so many stars. My husband and I had an awful experience and would have left the first night if it wasn’t for the fact that our room was non-refundable. To start, the valet was knocking on our car telling us to hurry up before my husband even PARKED the car so that he could unload our luggage. The valet then repeated several times in a row that we only had 10 minutes. The rooms had several stains and felt generally unclean shown in the photos provided. The worst part is the sliding door for the bathroom has a GIANT slit that you can not only see into but there’s NO SOUND OR ORDOR ISOLATION. I expressed this concern via chat on the app to the lady at the front desk Andrea to see if we could move rooms or if this was in every room. She then wasted both our time by confirming it was in every room but following up by asking if we wanted to switch rooms what is the point if you JUST confirmed the door situation is for every room and then insisting on bringing in a “maintenance engineer” to see if they could fix the door. I expressed my doubts that it was fixable and she got super rude after the engineer came to our room and confirmed there was nothing they could do obviously. The manager thankfully gave us a $100 voucher for a meal due to her attitude but that turned into ANOTHER problem. We reserved brunch at the rooftop. There was a room for people with reservations that frankly looked more comfortable but we were placed in a separate area. I’m still confused because the server wouldn’t allow us to sit in the reservation area because it was for another table that was reserved. A. There were multiple available tables in the room. B. We literally had a reservation. They couldn’t give us an answer on why we couldn’t go in even though we had a reservation. The room wasn’t reserved for an even either. It’s not a huge deal but just another annoyance at the hotel’s inconsistency and poor staffing personalities. We still tipped too. Overall the food was bland and while they brought out everyone’s food together, they decided to bring out my dish first, serve AND DELIVER food to other customers who came in AFTER my husband and I, then bring my husband his food. When my husband and I got food delivered, I received a courtesy call that I had food to pick up. However, when my husband call for food to be delivered, the delivery guy was stopped at the front and then the food was just…left. No calls or anything. It took my husband eventually going down searching around for several minutes before he found the food. Once again, inconsistency and lack of consideration from the hotel. Overall this was a disappointing introduction to Chicago and I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. My husband and I were so excited to stay here and saved up with this particular hotel in mind because it was beautiful, historical, on the river but never again. Rooms: Stained and disgusting Food & drinks: Bland and tasteless Noteworthy details: Awful staff
I have an upcoming stay and utilized the Hilton app chat feature to ask about a room upgrade, fine dining/speakeasy recommendations. I chatted with Front Desk staff member Nicolette, and she was so helpful! Her responses were prompt and she recommended some great spots for my husband and I to check out while we're in town to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks so much again Nicolette!!
