We have just got back from a two night stay at this beautiful campsite with some friends. We visited Mam Tor and Blue John Cavern as well as enjoying playing on the campsite and in the stream. Even though it rained we still had a great time. My six year son would like to give it a billion star rating!!

Gorgeous campsite set behind an incredible house at the foot of one of the Peaks. It's a very small site and could benefit from a handful more pitches but then it may take the atmosphere away from it. We paid to park here for a few days while out in the hills and were lucky enough to be able to use the showers before heading home. I didn't actually stay on the site but more pay for the facilities provided.

A highly regarded campsite that left me underwhelmed. Without driving or walking miles there is literally nothing at all that any other campsite doesnt offer, except maybe better routes suitable for heavy hikers. The peak district is a beautiful area but we passed numerous campsites that had equally stunning views but where far better maintained. The grass was so long I would question if it had been cut in months. The owners barely said a word to me, and the ground was so uneven it was impossible to find a pitch that would give both sides of an 8 man tent level ground. We will certainly visit the peak district again soon, but I gaurantee it will not be at upper booth.

Lovely campsite, peaceful and beautiful scenery. Leave your car and walk from the campsite to Jacobs ladder to Kinder Downfall or to Edale village through the fields. This is a second visit, the first being many years ago, when the old shower block was in need of an overhaul! On our return visit this year, they have a lovely modern Eco style shower block/facilities, well stocked with toilet rolls and hand soap etc. There is a 20p slot meter for an electric socket should you need to use a hair dryer. I would say though, there was no where to dry your hands, no dryer or hand towels. A small minor. We were allowed to park the car next to the tent which was perfect for our small tent set up, couldn't have coped with parking away from the tent. Owners that we met and spoke to on the phone were quite pleasant. We will return.
